Alternative drugs (legal weed)

In high times magazines there are any ads for legal weed like herbs and
pills. Has anyone every tried these "legal herbs". If so can you please let
me know what exactly is the deal with these herbs, pills, etc. What exactly
are these alternative drugs (psychotropic herbs). How do the effects
compare to those of the illegal counterparts? I'm an avide Pot user (THC
vapourizers are my thing but i will also toke bongs). Are these things
really the legal alternatives?

Yes. They're legal and they're alternative. The only problem is they
suck (which might explain why they're legal, and why people still
smoke weed).

The real alternative is to grow your own. Seeds freely available in London
retail outlets. Easy to do with no further investment, with guidelines
published on the Internet.

Don't know about any of that junk, but there _are_ legal highs available
if you know where to look. For example, there is a chemical called
dextromethorphan hydrobromide (also called DMT) which is found in many
cough syrups that will make you trip (you gotta drink 4-8 ounces of cough
syrup though - might give you a bit of a stomach ache). Also available
through exotic plant companies are seeds for a grass known as Syrian Rue.
These seeds, when smoked, can cause a DMT-like trip. It can also double
the strength of any shrooms you might be munchin'. The problem with
syrian rue with that it is a MAOI (check out the Shroomery or the Lycaeum
for a definition), so you gotta watch your diet before you do it. There
are also many flowers and herbs that grow all over the place that'll get
you fucked up. Check out you local head shop and ask if they've got any
books on legal highs...if you're in New England, try a Newbury Comics shop
- they've usually got a couple on the racks.

Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) will NOT cause a DMT-like trip. It will
enhance the effects of shrooms or DMT or LSD. It can be psychedelic on its
own, in massive doses, but has side effects (nausea and headache). Its
mostly used to enhance other psychedelics.

not this herbal shit sold in the back of High Times or by net fools like

Be warned! The stuff this guy is selling is complete garbage. This guy's just
another "herbal drug" peddler, out to make a quick buck off you. The stuff
hes selling is not psychedelic. Its a bunch of shit you could put together
yourself for a few cents a dose. He claims its a stimulant/psychedelic, yet
its main ingredient is LSAs, which are neither stimulant nor psychedelic, but
are sedatives derived from morning glories. Yeah, theyre chemically related to
LSD, but so is melatonin, a common sleep aid. Dont throw your money away! Read
stuff on the big internet drug archives (www.lycaeum.org or hyperreal.com/drugs)
and educate yourself on the many many legal REAL drugs out there.

"Designer phytochemical" is an oxymoron. By definition, a phytochemical is a
natural, plant-produced chemical. Besides, theres nothing designer about LSAs.
Theyre from morning glory seeds, which you can buy entire packets of for under
a dollar at most nurseries, garden shops, or hardware stores.
This guy is a crook, plain and simple. Beware.
