Optical Digital I/O Card
The Optical Digital I/O card is an upgrade for Sound BlasterR Live!T and
Sound BlasterR Live!T Value. The card provides digital connectors found in
professional audio systems and the popular consumer MiniDisc.
Designed for Sound Blaster Live! and Sound Blaster Live! Value Now you can
experience the most powerful sound card with a full array of digital
connectors specifically designed to deliver the full potential of
Environmental AudioT. The Optical Digital I/O, coupled with Sound Blaster
Live! or Sound Blaster Live! Value, will deliver clean digital audio output
on front and rear speakers in S/PDIF format.
Optical I/O Playback/Record
The MiniDisc community will be delighted with the additional optical output
capability for digital recording. Environmental Audio digital effects can be
transferred via a noise-free environment to consumer digital recorders.
Sound Blaster Live! as a Digital Audio Hub
Digital A/V receivers will be enhanced with a complete range of digital
interconnections. They will equip musicians with a full arsenal of
compatible digital I/Os to external sound processors and DAT players. The
addition of the Optical Digital I/O card will deliver a new way of
experiencing music and entertainment via the Environmental AudioT platform.

Industry standard optical digital receiver and transmitter that are safe
from ground loop problem and RF noise pick-up.
RCA S/PDIF In and S/PDIF Out with high-quality isolation transformer.
One Digital DIN for connection of up to (in the future) eight digital
speakers.
Additional Features for Sound Blaster Live! Users:
S/PDIF bypass for CreativeR PC-DVD Encore connection to DeskTop TheaterT 5.1
or other A/V receivers.
Cascade configuration with existing digital I/O card for full digital front
and rear outputs.
Optical format converter from RCA to optical and vice versa.
Intuitive I/O control via software setting.
