A Beautiful Mind, as far as films go, deserved every single award it earned. A Beautiful Mind, simply put, is a beautiful film. A beautiful film that glosses over and omits significant and, I feel, imperative facts.

I truly thought A Beautiful Mind was a beautiful film. But it was a film. And like with any piece of art the artist changes things, rewrites things, omits things, and creates things to make it appealing to the proper audience through the proper medium which can and does make for beautiful art; beautiful art that can become dangerous when seen as anything more than beautiful art with a heavy dose of Hollywood magic.

copy the nodes in the mindmap and paste - Bam. They turn into tasks. The Child nodes from the mindmap even turn up as indented text in Asana - so you can recognise subtasks. Multiple-select and drag them into a task as sub-tasks.

Hi. I saw this and tried it with a different mindmap tool I use (SimpleMind) and it worked too. I exported/copied outline mode. Nice to know pasting hierarchical text stays that way for at least a few other tools we Asana users have in our bag of tricks. Hope this helps others at least check if pasting from other tools they use might work as well. Cheers!

Great post guys! @Alexis is there any plans to incorporate a native mind mapping feature into Asana at some point? Im with @George_supreeth I find using a mindmap to get ideas out to be way more efficient than how you would add them to Asana. Being able to create a mind map and create actionable tasks from it would be awesome.

From my point of view this is awesome for every mindmapper, we can outline the project and complex issues in a mindmap and once done we can simply send the tasks to an Asana project and collaborate from there.
I am really excited

n Dec. 5, 1994, Vice President Al Gore announced the opening of what was to be called the greatest auction ever. The Government was selling off licenses that would allow companies to set up mobile phone networks using particular sections of the radio spectrum. Three months later, when bidding had concluded, the Treasury was $7 billion richer, and the auction was proclaimed a resounding success. However, the most important aspect of the auction was not so much the amount of money raised, but rather that it was organized according to an innovative and revolutionary principle and was a concrete vindication of game theory, one of the most important developments in modern economics.

Nash arrived at Princeton in 1948. Fine Hall was the home of the university's mathematics department, and each day at half past three some of the finest minds on the planet would gather for afternoon tea. Eccentricity was the order of the day, and the newcomer fitted in perfectly. He took a particular liking to the board games played at teatime, such as go, backgammon, chess and kriegspiel (a form of chess in which each player is unaware of the other's moves), and soon invented a game of his own. ''Nash,'' or ''John,'' is an example of a two-person zero-sum game with perfect information. That is to say, if one player wins, then the other must lose (zero-sum), and at each stage both players are aware of the state of play (perfect information). The study of such games and how to devise winning strategies had been the passion of one of Princeton's greatest luminaries, John von Neumann. Nash became fascinated by von Neumann's research and went on to take it to an even more sophisticated level.

Because Mindz really simplifies working with mind maps, especially on mobile devices. The goal was to improve the input and navigation also on smaller displays to such an extent that even complex mind maps can be created and edited easily, quickly and clearly. We claim that we have succeeded. But just test the app yourself.

Yes, you can export and send your mindmap as image, PDF, OPML, HTML/Text and Markdown. In addition, you can also send the complete mind map including all contents as a zip file. The recipient can then import this file into his Mindz version. A direct collaboration is not yet possible.

No, not yet. However, you can send an export of your mind maps to any location. No matter if it is a messenger, the memory on your mobile phone or a cloud storage like Google Drive or Dropbox if you have them installed. But it is clear to us that a smart cloud solution makes sense. That's why we will deal with this topic soon.

A map helps you discover a new place. A mind map can take you to fresh thoughts and ideas. Mind mapping isn't a recent discovery; it has existed since the third century. Now, it has got its due because you need new ways to think and organize information. And you need to think outside the box too.

Try putting a mind map to unexpected uses. Maybe, use it as a morning journal or retain a book you just read. You can do a mind map on paper or you can turn to these clean and clutter free mind mapping apps.

And connect them into flowcharts or mind maps. Use the Canvas format to see relationships between concepts. Imagine a collection of colorful sticky notes that show each idea is related to the others.

Canva is a zero effort graphic app you can use to create beautiful logos, social media posts, photo collages, or blog banners on the web. You can use Canva to create any kind of design and mind maps are one of them. Canva's free online Mind Map Maker has a beautiful variety of templates created by professional designers. You can see one example in the image above.

Log into Canva to customize your map. Tweak the colors and fonts, and pick from the stunning range of graph elements, like frames, shapes, and lines. Once your mind map is complete, you can download it as a high-quality document or share it on social media.

Breakdown Notes is one of those no-signup web apps that can skyrocket your productivity. Though it is an online tool for students and learners, anyone can use it to make diagrams, mindmaps, notes, and presentations. The mind mapping tool does not store your information anywhere.

It looks like a big whiteboard where you can place shapes, lines, and notes anywhere. You can drag and drop images or copy paste from the clipboard. A library of different fonts, shapes, and icons can give your mind map the visual style you want to go for.

MapsOfMind is the mind mapping child Trello never had. The online app is a linear idea organizer and a mind mapper in one smooth interface. Your mind maps will be built around InfoBoxes. You can add any information inside an InfoBox and break it down to digestible chunks. Then you just connect the different boxes to draw your thoughts on screen.

Like minimal apps? Then Ideament could be your choice for your iPhone or iPad. The Ideament app easily helps you switch from linear outlines to mindmaps and vice-versa. This is useful when you a list of to-dos and would like to see how they are related. Enter the list and convert it into a mind map. Then arrange them around to group similar tasks.

You don't need an app to mind map your ideas. But using a digital tool expands the way you can use them or collaborate on them. Try a mind map tool when you are flummoxed with a problem or find a project overwhelming. Break it down with a diagram. There are many mind mapping tools that can turn your brainstorms into beautiful mind maps.

A last example is the use of deep learning in some mobile phone keyboards, where deep learning is used to predict and suggest words the user might type next [9], based on what the user has typed previously. Besides these examples, in the past year, many major tech company (e.g., Google, Facebook, and Apple) has touted their use of deep learning to improve their services (e.g., face recognition in images, speech recognition in digital personal assistants, etc.).

While the use of deep learning in medicine as a whole is limited at best, the use of deep learning in psychopathology is (as of yet) nonexistent. We anticipate that this will change in the near future. In current research, as part of a collaboration between the University of Groningen and University Medical Center Groningen, we are investigating the predictive qualities of various machine learning methods, among which deep learning is one, for prognosis in the field of mental health (see also the blog post by Peter de Jonge, to be published on September 14, 2016). The goal of this research is to determine which of these methods can best be used to predict adverse courses in depression, based solely on self-report data that is routinely retrieved in a clinical setting. We hope that these efforts, together with those of others, will further help unravel the mysteries of our beautiful minds.

These beautiful sessions have buoyed me so through the months - now nearly years - of this pandemic. Your words have spoken to me for many years (The House of Belonging is still my favorite, all the pages well worn and the binding frayed). Your choices of theme and poems always seemed divinely timed to what I needed to hear, or to ponder. My creativity has soared, and I have been inspired to let go of old wants and dreams that no longer fit, to be less "hard on myself for wanting what I want," and to really accept that I deserve to have the life I want.

It is that practical and universal process which attracted my attention first. The main character of the movie, Pr Nash, found the way on his own to live together with his schizophrenia and paranoia. Seen from this angle, we can say that he has truly a beautiful mind.

In the first part of the movie, he is completely unaware of his illness. He lives in complete darkness. He does not know where he is. He thinks that what he lives is reality. He does not realize that the characters who dictate him his behaviour are produced by his ill mind and he refuses any help. He is prisoner of his own mind and the neurologist who treats him does not believe in any cure for that very reason.
