Patient was denied insurance due to Fibromyalgia diagnosis. Has anyone
had this happen to them. She is doing really well now physically --
just no insurance. Any ideas?

I have heard of this happening recently. There seems to be a definite
trend in this direction. In my practice, I never use the diagnosis of
fibromyalgia for this reason. I prefer to mention conditions like
neuralgia and muscle pain instead when insurance is involved.

I agree with Dr. Napp. The only thing that you might have them do is
to go back to the doc who gave her that diagnosis and have him reacess
and give a new and updated or correct diagnosis. I don't know if that
will work but worth a try. Who knows, it may work in your favor when
she tells him how she improved. Dr.Rudy

Thanks Guys,

I did not give her the diagnosis. The doctor who gave it to her won't
take it back. I am recommending an MD/DC down the street for a
examination to possibly counter the original diagnosis. She is already
trying different insurance companies.

Any other patients have similar situations?
