Hi folks,

One Google feature I find really useful when researching different fiber (or fibre!) to the home tecnologies around the world is our improved image search at Google Images, for example the query here : http://www.google.com/images?q=fiber+to+the+home   shows many different approaches and technologies.

Hover over the images and click on the Similar link at the bottom of the expanded imagine for interesting results!

Hi James,

Nice collection!
Here is a picture of the passive network architecture we use in the
Netherlands:
http://i1198.photobucket.com/albums/aa443/marcelnienhuis/DirectBurrieddrawing.jpg
The picture shows only the passive layer, not the equipment parts as
the ODF drawers and active equipment (routers/switches).
The FttH networks in the Netherlands are point-to-point with 2 fibers
per household. So no splitters between the Area PoP and the households
(gpon/epon) !

Hope this explains a little about the Dutch approach!

If more info is needed, let me know.
