Kairos Prison Ministry – How YOU can help this ministry!!

Kairos Prison Ministry at Baldwin State Prison in Milledgeville is preparing for Weekend #11 which will be held November 5th thru 8th.  The mission of Kairos is to share the transforming love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ so that those incarcerated men who experience Kairos can become loving and productive citizens.  Forest Hills UMC shares Christ’s love with prayer, with artwork from our children, with homemade cookies, with 2L drinks and financial support.   Many of these inmates have children or grandchildren whom they seldom or never see;  a simple drawing from a child may touch an inmate’s heart in a way we in the outside world cannot imagine.  Our homemade cookies may be the expression of Christian love that begins a transformation in an inmate’s life just by knowing there is someone who cared for him enough to bake them.  Ask any of our FHUMC members who serve in Kairos about the impact these expressions of love have on these men in prison:  Conn Fountain, Biren Patel, J. E. Taylor, Tom Adkisson.

Please continue to support this ministry with cookies, artwork, 2L drinks and, most importantly, your prayers.  Cookies need to be packed 6 per package in Ziploc bags.  You can place cookies and drinks at the Mission’s cabinet at the Canopy entrance; they will be picked up November 4th.
