Hi all,

I have been looking at the FhirBase schema a bit more. I'm curious why each resource storage (e.g., patient) has an explicit column to define the version number. Why can't we just use the version number available in the jsonb blob describing the resource? It is meta data we have available anyway.

Thanks.

Roy

Version ID is globally unique to make possible refer historical data by single ID. For example to trace transaction bundles in future.  It's just a extra feature, which is not dictated by any FHIR requirements, if you have arguments for another approach - let's discuss.
