Hi all,
We want to upgrade our whole FhGFS file system to the latest version available r15. We have downloaded and installed the new r15 fhgfs-admon service on our Admon server, but now we aren’t sure how to continue.
Could you explain the recommend way to upgrade a working file system with the minimum service downtime?. From GUI or command line.
I could not find in the FhGFS wiki, information on the upgrade process of a working system.
Thanks in advance.
Best regards
Jesus
in one of your older email I saw you have RHEL 5.6 systems. The
fhgfs-repository was added to your local package management system
during the installation by the admon. We recommend to update fhgfs with
your local package management system. On RHEL systems use the command
"yum update fhgfs*". This will update the binaries and keep the
configuration. It is not needed to stop the service before you start the
update. But it is needed to restart the services after the installation
of the new binaries to make the update work. It is possible to use
different minor versions of the fhgfs-client on different servers at the
same time. You must not restart the clients on all systems at the same time.

Thank you so much for your help.
We will change our firewall rules to allow fhgfs clients access to the fhgfs-repository.
Thanks again.
Greetings,
Jesus
