We hope everyone had a good Hanukkah and Christmas Holiday. As we look forward to 2026, we just wanted to bring you up to date on a few things.

New Board Member:  Suzanne Tick has joined the FHCA board to fill a vacancy. Suzanne is a long-time Fair Harbor resident who now spends much of her time in Fair Harbor. You may know her as the award-winning designer who collects mylar balloons to weave into art and as a Meditation instructor. Elections for the board will take place in the Spring. Please let us know if you are interested in working with us.

Peddler's Permit: The Town of Islip voted to award a peddler's permit to Nick Newman to place a trailer on his property across from Pioneer. The plan is for Kismet Coffee, which currently operates in Kismet, Ocean Beach and Bay Shore, to serve specialty coffees from this trailer.

Security: Several homes were broken into last Sunday in what the police are calling an isolated incident. The thief or thieves entered the houses through unlocked windows. They took small electronics and tools, which they stashed in a bag that the police found before they came back for it. Most homes have been checked and affected owners have been notified. Please don't post about this on Facebook. If you have cameras at your homes and see anything suspicious, please contact the Suffolk County police.
