You should only put bottles, cans and small metal objects in the yellow recycling garbage cans.

No plastic bags, or paper goods.

The top does not need to be on the can.

Newspapers and other paper goods should be placed next to, but not in the yellow recycling garbage cans.

If these rules are not followed, then anything in the recycling cans will be treated as normal garbage.
