Fire in Ocean Beach

Ocean Beach suffered a terrible fire yesterday. They lost one house to the ground and sustained damage to the two adjacent houses. Luckily, Windswept was saved. Thank you to the heroic efforts of the Ocean Beach Fire Department, OBPD,  Fair Harbor FD,  Ocean Bay Park FD, Point of Woods FD, Bay Shore FD, East Islip FD and the Suffolk County Marine Bureau. This could have been much worse. Here are some news clips and photos.

OCEAN BEACH, Long Island (WABC) -- A fire on Fire Island completely destroyed a waterfront home. Flames tore through the house on Bay Walk in Ocean Beach around 4 p.m. Friday. The homes on both sides of the home that was destroyed suffered some damage. The cause of the fire is under investigation. No injuries were reported.
