Happy Labor Day! Most will agree that Sept. 1 is too soon for this holiday. But let’s take a moment to honor all who are working in Fair Harbor today, including our friends at Corliss, Le Dock, Unfriendly’s, Pioneer and the lifeguards.
Ocean Lifeguards: today is their last day. FHCA will again this year hire Ocean Watchers on Saturday and Sunday this coming weekend and the next (9/6-7 and 9/13-14) from around 11:30 to 3:30 each day, weather permitting. They will sit on the beach at Broadway and advise us about currents, rip
tides and marine life. If you plan to swim, please say hello and swim in front of them. If you wish to donate to support this program, please go to
fairharbor.org/donate . And please, if you swim after today, don’t swim alone and be careful.
Pioneer Market: moves to its September schedule. Please check their website for exact times at
www.pioneermarket.net Unfriendly's will be open only on weekends weather permitting.
BBQ needs you: corn shuckers, set up, clean up, grillers, corn cookers and servers are needed. Please sign up at
jane...@gmail.com . BBQ is Saturday, Sept 20. More info to come.
Corliss: is again collecting cans and unopened package goods and non-perishable items for local food pantries in front of the store. Check with them for September hours.
Bathrooms at the firehouse: will close after today during the week but be open on weekends until Columbus Day
