Read the following passage from Ch. 4:
"Summer was on the way; Jem and I awaited it with impatience. Summer was our best season: it was sleeping on the back screened porch in cots, or trying to sleep in the treehouse; summer was everything good to eat; it was a thousand colors in a parched landscape; but most of all, summer was Dill."
Through imagery, Lee defines summer in a way that is very specific to Jem and Scout. Choose your own "something" you look forward to; it can be a season of the year, a recurring event, etc. Mimic Lee's structure in the passage above and define your "something" in an equally descriptive way.
Here is my example:
Awards season was on its way; I waited on the edge of my seat. Awards season was my biggest yearly event: it was sitting in a dimly-lit, warm theater away from the frigid winter winds outside or curling up on my plush couch in pajamas to watch the flick with the most "buzz;" awards season was all the great talents dominating the screen at once; it was thought-provoking, emotionally-stimulating films shattering the usual vapid expanse of box-office fluff; but most of all, awards season was Hollywood brought to life.

My next figure skating competition was on its way; I was getting more and more nervous as the days went by. Competing is my favorite part of being a skater: it's the adrenaline rush of performing in front of bleachers overflowing with spectators; it's the confidence and pride of being able to show off all my hard work; it's the worry in the back of my mind that I won't be able to pull off my double loop quite right; but most of all, competing is the desire to win.

The spring trip was on the way; I awaited with the usual excitement. The spring trip was the highlight of the year: it was sitting on the long beach, in the sun's blaring heat; the spring trip was everything fun to do; it was a ton of sounds in the beautiful sky and land; but most of all, the spring trip was meeting all the wonderful friends I have.
