Good afternoon, Northwest Arkansas!
I have some great news- you have a new Volunteer Experience Specialist. Laurie Burks has joined the team. Laurie has a great history of customer and client services with companies in the Bentonville/Rogers area. She is passionate about the Girl Scouts mission. I believe you all will appreciate her big heart and her interest to help you. Laurie’s email is lbu...@girlscoutsdiamonds.org and she can be reached at extension 5837. She has been working the Cookie Cupboard some so if you are in the office, please feel free to stop and say hello. Laurie, we are excited to have you!
Thank you all for your patience during this time of transition. I am here to help too, but I am glad you have a local contact as well.
I am also attaching this month’s talking points.
Hope you all have a wonderful week.
All the best,
Beth

At Girl Scouts, there is nothing we take more seriously than the safety and wellbeing of our girls, volunteers, and council staff. Girl Scouts – Diamonds has been following the CDC's guidance and updates, including information on prevention and travel. If we learn of any updates that may impact our council’s events, programs or meetings, we will share them promptly via social media, email and/or other appropriate communications outlets. At this point, we suggest that you follow basic hygiene precautions:
• Ensure girls and volunteers wash their hands frequently for 20 seconds with soap and water, particularly before snacks and meals.
• If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
• Avoid touching your face.
• Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when coughing or sneezing then dispose of the tissue appropriately after is use.
• Get plenty of sleep, good nutrition, stress-relief and exercise.
• You may consider discontinuing holding hands during songs and games for the time being.
If your troop has a service project that involves a facility with persons with weakened immune systems such as a hospital or nursing home, you may want to consider postponing the event or at a minimum contacting the facility to determine whether they are allowing outside groups to enter.
Please be assured that we are closely monitoring official local, state and federal information and we will share additional guidance if it becomes necessary.
Please contact our Customer Care team with any questions or concerns. Visit Girl Scouts of the USA’s Raising Awesome Girls blog for advice on talking with your kids about this topic.
Thanks for asking and feel free to reach out with any other questions or concerns,
