Good morning Stephanie and Sherry,
Stephanie it was nice speaking to you this morning. I wanted to let both of you know that we have received approval for the Parade of Cars on Sunday, April 19th.
The parade is a go for Sunday, April 19, between 1400 and 1500 hrs.
Concept of Operations:
The concept/protocol will be for cars to enter the VA through the North College entrance, drive around the circle, back onto North College, turn right on North Street, turn right into our parking lot, circle between the first two parking
rows and the second two parking rows, then drive back out onto North Street. Drivers are encouraged to honk horns, wave flags, and display signs.
The Veterans will view from the windows of their rooms (A side), spaced out one per window with face mask (Dining Room), or outside wearing masks and spaced at least 6-feet apart (back garden area or on the front sidewalk). We plan to
hold the parade between 1400 and 1500 to ensure maximum available staff. Meghan and I will be on site to personally supervise and assist.
The plan keeps at least 20 feet between the cars and the nearest Resident.
Resident activities leading to the event will include homemade cloth facemasks and sign making Veterans can hold up to show their appreciation to the drivers.
Yours Truly,
Rebecca K. Dixon
Fiscal Support Specialist
