Welcome to the Fungus Federation of Santa Cruz Google Group! The FFSC is a non-profit 501 (3)(c) located in Santa Cruz, California. We seek to expand, though education, the understanding and appreciation of mycology.

Our club holds monthly meetings September – May featuring speakers of national and local prominence. Local and long distance forays provide opportunities to learn about mushrooms in the field, and bountiful culinary events help keep the "fun" in fungus! Workshops round out our educational program, covering microscopy, map & compass navigation and dyeing fibers with mushrooms.

This forum provides a place to share information about fungi, habitat and identification. Please note that identification of mushrooms by photo alone is not definitive. If you are planning to eat a mushroom, we strongly advise that you have a knowledgeable identifier inspect the actual mushrooms before consumption.
