Hi,

are there any plans to port the timecode option of ffmpeg's drawtext
filter (to render timecodes into the video picture) to ffmbc with one
of the coming releases?

Regards,

Robert

Timecode burning is on the road map.

As a workaround you can generate a subtitle file containing one subtitle per frame with the current timecode in it and burn that in using libass.

For those who wish to experiment (at your own risk) with libass and burnt in subtitles i've attached and srt with subtitles running from 09:59:52:00 to 12:13:11:24 @ 25fps.
Thats a couple of hundred thousand subs so make sure you cut it down to the size you need before loading it.

If you do load the whole file, expect to wait a bit before your transcode starts.
A more sensible route is to use FFMPEG and drawtext at the moment.

If you want to experiment with formatting i would recommend using the excellent Jubler subtitle program to transform the srt into .ass file.
