Hello FES'ers,
I removed the spinner on my mini Lak FES and found some corrosion as shown in the attached images.
Below is a distillation of the Q&A between Luka and I:
Questions from Jamie to Luka
Do I need to do anything about the corrosion as described below?
Today, I removed the spinner for a routine inspection and cleaning. I noticed the corrosion as shown in the three attached images.
- Should I do anything about this corrosion?
- Will it cause problems in the future?
It is very hot and very, very humid in Houston for most of the year. Typical relative humidity in Houston is 90%.
Answer from Luka
"No need to do anything, and I do not expect problems in future."
Jamie's Questions for the FES Group
- Have you seen similar corrosion on your motor?
- Any other interesting observations when you removed your spinner?
- The area behind my spinner was relatively clean. I lubricated and cleaned as described in the FES Maintenance Manual version 1.12, page 16. I've attached the manual to this email as PDF. Has anybody done other maintenance in the area behind the spinner that they are willing to share?
Thanks,
Jamie Shore
