pregnant ferret

hi, just joined today and would like some good advice on how i should
care for my daughters pet ferret (snowy) as she has only about a week
and a half to go before she has her litter.

thanks natalia, i have had ferrets some years ago and hunted them
aswell as keeping them as pets!. i keep my ferrets in a two level
cage, with the male below and her above will she kill her young if she
can smell him that close??. they were in together for a week when she
was ready enough for them to mate!, and get on really well together!.
or should i bring her into the house away from the stinky male polecat
lol?.

I have a friend who just bred her ferrets and they seem to be getting on really well, the male is with the babies as well, they seem to be really good parents, both of them. I will ask her how exactly she did it from the beginning as hers seems to be a success story with ferret breeding.

hi elly, thanks for your reply. since my last message!, snowy has had
her young...9 kits and 1 stillborn that came out the following
morning. they are now two and a bit weeks old, and all doing very
well.

Congratulations for the babies! Ivana, I'm sure you will see the dark babyboy quite often, I don't live too far :) Mocha has finally learned how to play without biting so she's much more fun now :) (Now she only wishes I left her alone a bit more to sleep on my days off...) 

9 kits? Wow, that will be a lively place for the next 8 weeks :)

Well Elly had 8 and i can say is so much work!!!they are very messy:) but they are so cute:)I wish i could keep them all:(
