Welcome all ferret keepers, ferret lovers and anyone interested in any aspect of ferrets in Northern Ireland!
I
hope you will find valuable information here. We would like to build a
community of ferret keepers who help each other with advise,
information, time so that these little furballs can have a great time
with us. There's not much information circulating on the internet
about ferret keeping in Northern Ireland, however, I know about lots of
people who keep ferrets as pets or for hunting.
One important
aspect of keeping ferrets is having the knowledge to keep them safe and
happy. They are different from hamsters or cats or dogs. They are
something completely unique and it is very important that if we want to
keep ferrets we know some things about them. Warmly recommended: read
he book 'Ferrets for Dummies' to get some basic info. But besides
general knowledge, we need local knowledge as well: where can we walk
them, what are the laws and regulations, which vets can we trust, who
can we turn to for help, advice or babysitting, where can we get
supplies. And even: where we can get our first / second / third ferret!
And most of us want to see how other ferrets and ferret keepers are getting on and want to share stories of our furballs too. Feel free to ask, to tell a story, to advise... Even to buy and sell (cages, accessories, etc...). Have fun!
