I am happy to find this group. I didn't even know Google had groups
until I was doing a search on how do you ferment spinach and I pulled
up a post on the Wild Fermentation group on Google. I love that book
Wild Fermentation by Sandor Elix Katz of Tennessee. Have any of you
read it? My copy has dog ears and I have since last year fermented
okra, squash, sauerkraut, and yogurt. I tried pickles and radishes
but they didn't turn out. Did something wrong, I suppose. No luck
with sourdough either. What I really really want to make, though, is
kefir! How do you say that word? Anyway, I found some in bottles at
the grocers and it was yummy and I tried to make it the same way one
makes yogurt by adding yogurt to goat's milk, but then I read about
these mysterious chrystal things that make the kefir and I am
fascinated by the idea!
