If you want a pre-printed return address embedded into your envelope template, you can place that address into the header of your template. To do that, double-click into the header section of your envelope:

To save your envelope as a template, go to the File tab and click Save As > Browse, and in the File Explorer window, be sure to choose a template format (in this case, .dotx):

Now that I have an envelope template already saved, I always have an envelope form I can start using immediately. This enables me to print multiple letterhead envelopes throughout the day. All I have to do is copy and paste addresses from letters in progress and print from the envelope form. Once I have the envelope(s) I need, I can simply delete the address(es) and reuse the form.

I really appreciate your website. Thank you for doing it. Regarding your preferred envelope method, I can sure see why it would be useful to have that envelope form ready to go all day, but I wonder if creating a template could save that daily formatting chore?

One user had an issue with their printer and envelope template. After some research and attempts, they found that adjusting printer settings and using a different template solved the problem. It shows that sometimes you need persistence to get the small details right.

When you create envelopes for your small business in Microsoft Word, adding your logo to the return address is one way to incorporate your brand into your correspondence without the need to purchase expensive stationary. If you want the logo to appear somewhere on the envelope other than the return address area, that option is available. Word also gives you the ability to save the envelope you design with the logo as a template. This way you don't need to make a new envelope from scratch each time you want to print one.

Use the "Save As" command under the File tab to save the document that contains the envelope. If you select "Word Template (.DOTX)" as the file format in the Save As dialog box, you can create an envelope template and re-use this envelope and logo design multiple times.

Instead use a separate text box for every area you want to place text. If you plan to have an information form on your envelope, you may either use a separate box for each word (date, name, address), or use one box, and use the tab and enter to space the words appropriately within the text box.

If you would like to use separate text boxes for every word, you can use the align tool to make sure they line up nicely. Right now it is important to get everything onto the offering envelope approximately where your want it.

Invalid bar code at the Post Office so no tracking on ours. Also had an issue printing to a #10 envelope but are now copy/pasting the label into Microsoft Word using the "envelope" template and it prints good.

For me, I use standard 6 3/4" envelopes and I have been printing the shipping label directly onto the envelope. After much playing around, the only method that works for me is to select the label size as 8 x 11", landscape mode, resize at 72% and print only page 1. Surprisingly, selecting the label size as 6 x 4 prints the label too big and off centered to the envelope. I did also try the snipping tool method and pasting the copied photo into word but it prints off the label blurry and am worried that it would not be able to get scanned. But so far, my method I have been using has been working and I am able to track all of my shipments so far.
