Called KCR helpline 04023454071 and reported this issue extensively. Here are the points mentioned:
1) Industrial smell due to chemical emissions from industries in kazipally/bolaram areas since several years
2)Reported to PCB several times but they claim they are helpless and only solution is to shut the industries which will not happen. They can't even isolate the offending units due to poor infrastructure.
3)dharnas, media coverage, RTI..nothing has helped.
4) Affected areas: Miyapur, nizampet, bachupally, kondapur, gachibowli
5) Most residents not even aware of the issue or its consequences. Most have lost the sense if smell sue to prolonged exposure.

Can you all fwd this number to your respective area residents and encourage them to call as well.

Thanks,

Here is the link to the onedrive site that contains all the documents we have related to the industrial pollution.
http://1drv.ms/1uoPrqu
Ratna gopal garu, this is the shortened link for the same location that I had sent the longer link for this morning to you.

BTW, the smell is back again. Sensed it at 6am in the morning in the washroom which is the only place in our house that has a some opening to outside through the exhaust vent. So the smell leaks into the house. We keep the windows to all other rooms closed aat all times, especially from 5pm to 9am for the fear of this smell. I ascertained that it is the same smell by stepping out into the balcony for a second.

Thanks,
Veena.

Yes, awareness is a big issue regarding this smell. People usually pass it off as one of the variety of foul smells you typically get in the cities. Most of them can't even recognize that there is a foul smell. With prolonged exposure, they must have lost the ability to sense that smell. I have heard that this is typically the case with H2S. So ignorance is bliss for most people when it comes to issues like this.

I too get immediate headache when I am exposed to this smell. Staying indoors with all doors/windows shut has been my only recourse so far.
Thanks,
Veena.

Hello,

I was at office at Madhapur & when I came out of the office premises at around 9, I could recognize this smell there as well. On reaching home at MHJ the smell was intense. People at Madhapur are not aware of this issue & probably neglected it. But this is very harmful.

I had severe headache because of this foul smell.

Hope we succeed in our long battle for clean Air.

Thanks

Ramappa sounded helpless when I spoke to him.

Yes There was release of toxic gases from 6.30 pm.

The matter was brought to the notice of Member Secretary. He sent Mr Ramappa AE to site who spent time in these areas and also visited Ramky's inceneration unit.

Member Secretary made a follow up call to me at around 8.15 pm and enquired the status. It was nice of him to pay attention to the complaint.

Let us hope for the best.

The pollution ceased with in 15 minutes.. This never happened earlier..rather the pollution used to continue for an hour or more in many cases.

This begs the following derivations:
  1. Department is responsive under the leadership of current Member Secretary
  2. The culprit is identified and in the knowledge of the department.
In any case let us keep calling grievance cell which is in operation 24 hours with perseverance as & when pollution is experienced..

Dear Sirs,

There seems to be no end for this SAGA of air pollution in the near future. The illegitimate release of toxic gases by the errant company in Bachupally area is continuing inspire of alerting all of you since October 2010.

When we met member secretary in March 12, it was apprehended that the incineration unit being operated by Ramky industries could be the culprit and as understood from department officials this unit was asked to shut down for 45 days. The fact remains that during that shutdown period, the pollution was non existent mostly but for a few rare occasions.

The situation has now worsened since beginning of May 12. The only difference is severalty increased and timings for release of the toxic gases is elongated stretching to mid nights.

Yesterday the air pollution continued from 8 PM till 1.30 AM. Your patrol team was witness to this when they visited my area at 1 AM and we all felt the effect of the sever air pollution at that time. Those officers have very much experienced the pollution and felt the gravity. We are not sure whether the message is reaching to the right persons through them or not.

It thus amounts playing with public and taking advantage of distance voice of public not reaching the ears of the persons assigned to act on this as a part of their duty.

We will keep writing these appeal notes and definitely alert public in near future hopefully to create mass movement with in the per-view of our great democratic constitution and try to send our message across to reach the corridors of power till the guilty (who ever it is) are punished

We regret to inform you that in spite of our repeated petitions, the matter seems to have not been addressed. The air pollution is still continuing in & around Bachupally. The errant industry seems to be wise to release the toxic gases in the middle of nights now a days.

Our fervent calls to the survey team are unanswered most of the times. They respond very rarely with typical answer " we will look into this"

We are very frustrated due to the indifferent attitude of the responsible officers who are not taking action on the errant industries.

Hoping that this will attract your attention we are again reminding yourselves.

You can appreciate that this sort of high degree pollution of H2S will lead to severe health hazard and I am sure it is very soon most of us will fall sick and crippled.

If no action is taken at your end even now, against our plea since October 2010, it will have to be deemed that we are left to our own fate & destiny.

Dear Sirs,

The fumes are so toxic, that it is becoming extremely difficult to come out of the houses during that time of release of toxic fumes. We have had your survey teams visiting the site right  at the time of pollution and they appreciated the problem. Though they have not shared with us, we are very sure that the source of the pollution is very much known to them. They apparently did not take measures to stop the release of toxic gases.

Thus our repeated pleas have only reached the deaf ear from the department.

On one side we are proud to notice how actively our ministry of environment & pollution is keen to minimize the pollution from existing  as well as new industries. , but in our case, the problem seems to have not been reached the attention of the right officer in the department.

Given  an opportunity we will personally explain to you.

May I request your good self to attend to the problem and caution the errant industry to stop releasing of toxic fumes.

Dear Sri Madhusudhana Rao garu,

Greetings!

This is a fervent appeal and request to your good self to address the air pollution menace at Maytas Hill county, Bachupally area.

We have been taking up the issue with the department ( chain of mails below and innumerable number of telephone calls) since Oct 2010.

The problem is: Some of the nearby chemical industries are releasing pungent toxic gases to atmosphere sporadically resulting in unbearable air pollution, causing great concern to our families and  posing threats for the very continuation of residing in that area.

Whenever there is release of toxic gases we used to call the team and the task force officers also. On our requests, the officials (survey teams) visited the area  on three occasions right at the time of release of toxic gases and DID experience the nature of pollution. However there have been no improvement of this situation.

The errant company is releasing toxic gases very frequently and do not seem to bother and care for the rules of the land. We also feel the pollution department by virtue of the smell of the toxic gases could have got an idea of the errant industry who is violating the pollution norms.

In this helpless situation I, on behalf the Hill County Residents association am approaching you with the request to kindly intervene and advise the concerned to take measures to stop the release of toxic gases from the errant industry.

We may also request you to kindly give us an appointment when office bearers of Hill County Owners assn will explain you in person the gravity of the problem.

We eagerly look forward to your affirmative response, Sir.

Thanks

Dear Mr Viswanathan,

We are deeply concerned and pained that the toxic gases are being released very frequently from adjoining chemical industries threatening our very stay at this place during the release.

We have been continuously informing the Senior Environmental Engineer, Task Force - Medak ( Phone No.9177301450) and also the survey team @ 9866776755 as & when we observe the release of toxic gases. The officers have visited even during the time of release and appreciated the facts. It is believed they could get clues on the errant company.

This situation requires attention of senior officers of Pollution department, lest this will continue and also likely aggravate further.

As you may appreciate this is a serious health hazard to the public living in the area and as a responsible officer you would kindly consider the gravity of the situation and help us.

Anticipating your response, Sir

Dear Mr Viswanathan,

The pollution is still continuing in spite of our complaints to your good self.

The errant company is taking advantage of the timing sand releasing the toxic gases either early in the morning or late night hours and on holidays, to ensure that they are not caught red handed.

This is deplorable and cheating public and government machinery.

Dear Sir,

We are residing at Bachupally. There are some chemical  & Pharmaceutical industries nearby. They release toxic chemicals to atmosphere almost regularly in the evenings & nights. During weekends & holidays the release is done in day & night also.

These fumes as you apprecaite are very dangerous and pose serious health hazards. At times it is so severe that we have breathing problems too.

We earnestly look forward to your help in taking up the matter with the concerned company and arrest these toxic vents to atmosphere immediately.

Thanks,
Ratna Gopal
