Dear All,

Forum to Improve Things (FIT) conducted a Meeting regarding the problem of Industrial pollution in our area and here are the notes and next steps :

- Industrial pollution issue we all are facing
- The GO to move industries beyond ORR pending to be implemented
- What we need to do to expedite the shifting of the industries and have pollution within limits till the shifting is complete.

He is the action plan:

- The group has representatives from ~200 apartment association and gated communities covering ~20000 families
- We will get a document drafted by a lawyer that we will use to get written commitment from the MLA contestants promising us to do these 3 things if elected:

1. Within one year, pollution levels will be brought under the limits permissible by PCB.
2. Within 5 years, GO no. MS 20 dated 1/3/2013 will be implemented to move industries beyond ORR
3. Will be available for at least one day per month to work on industrial pollution issue with us by being with us in any protests/rallies/camps etc that we do, by being with us when we submit any representations/ requests to any departments or to any member/head of state and central cabinets and by being available for meetings with us for  discussing progress and future plan of action.

- We will meet as many contestants as possible from Serilingampally, Kukatpally and Qutbullapur constituencies and request them to give a written commitment by signing the document we prepare. We will go in a group of around 20 when we meet the contestants.

We will communicate to the reps from the residential complexes (whether a contestant has signed the document or not, signed docs, etc) and they will in turn communicate within their complexes.

We have already started working on preparing the list of 200 complexes. Please help us complete it quickly by sending name of your complex and one or two reps from it with their contact numbers.

This election season is the right time for us to act if we want any improvement in the situation and seek cooperation of you all in this.

Regards,
Srinivas Velaga on behalf of FIT
