Acrobat Reader 2023 changed menu layouts and snapshot tool cannot be found. Find tool in top right says "Find text or tools" but it cannot find snapshot tool. Any ideas how to take snapshot in Acrobat Reader 2023?
There's a new feature under Menu>View>Disable New Acrobat that I find particularly useful. Restart Acrobat then right click on your toolbar (Just to the left of the Page Up and Page Down arrows) and under Show Edit Tools check "Take a Snapshot". This will put it back where it belongs. I was going to show screenshots, but once New Acrobat is disabled, it seems the option to enable it is gone on mine. Perhaps this was due to the Acrobat team's insight that no one would ever want to go back to that crap....
Main triple bar dropdown .... Disable New Adobe
Gets us back to the Toolbar (with the TAKE SNAPSHOT feature).
That's my workaround... for now.
Not sure how to revert to begin using the New version again, but not in a hurry.
I have adobe acrobat pro dc. I have attached the snapshot icon to my tool bar(small camera) it brings up the cross hairs but it will not let me drag a rectangle around my target. If i right click it says select all/deselect all or print. What is going on?
In the newest version, you don't need to go to a menu. On the quick tool bar if you have the select tool you can just drag a box around what you want to snapshot and right click. Drop down menu will have option to take snapshot. As a side note, you will not get the message that a snapshot was taken like you would if you use the option in the menu.
Yeah, That's ok. The snapshot packages are auto-created when you installed a new version of the same artifact(1) for the "uninstall" feature from packageManager to work, so it is good to purge these from time to time.
Hello all, trying to find the "Take a Snapshot" function with this latest update. I can find it through search but would like to have it in the left nav bar or quick tools section. Let me know if anyone has found it. Thanks!
Adobe please fix the snapshot! I use this hundreds of times a day. What is the design philosophy at Adobe? I understand that everyone uses this product differently, but for every workflow I have this tool is now much slower and more frustrating. What is the point in changing the menus and location on something like this. It's like if Ford decided to make the steering wheel work opposite, and move the turn signal lever to the back seat. Who is making and approving these massive changes, with no apparent benefit. It's like throwing money away on redesign. Is Adobe just trying to justify the annoying subscription pricing?
They HAVE to fix it so there is a pinned icon like there was in past versions. Who the hell hides something like that? I need to quickly do it in class sometimes and farting around with several layers of menu is beyond stupid. There is a ton of empty toolbar space sitting there with no way to add anything to it while we have to screw around with menus for important frequently-used tools? Completely insane.
I can't take a screenshot, but follow what I tell you to do:
Select the area of your interest by drawing a box with the selection tool (the classic arrow), then right-clicking a menu will appear in which you can choose "copy image" or "take snapshot"
Maybe you can assist with another issue. Where is the zoom option to "Fit one page within the window" as a bitton. I was able to default it in the settings when I first open, but then if I use the marque zoom or anything else, I can't get back to that option... again, it's driving me nuts!!!
I can take a snapshop, but when I go to print the snapeshot doesn't show up and there are no options to select. This is really annoying. Adobe has really mades some bad choices in their so called updates.
Right click on the PDF document in the window, select "take a snapshot", then select the window you want to "snapshot", boom! it selects it and the program does a "snapshot". Right click on the blue highlighted window and print.
To restore an existing snapshot (on the supported environment: Integration, Staging, Production on Starter plan or Integration on Pro plan), follow the steps in Backup management: Restore a manual backup in our Commerce on Cloud Infrastructure Guide.
A snapshot is a complete backup of an environment that includes all persistent data from all running services (for example, your MySQL database, Redis, and so on) and any files stored on the mounted volumes.
Only submit a support request for a DB snapshot from Pro Production and Staging if you need the DB from a specific point in time. If you need a current backup of your DB only (on any environment), see the knowledge base article: Generate database dumps on Cloud.
one of my clients requested for an indicator in profiles, which are collapsed due to same emails but they have different last names. With that indicator they wont target those profiles for any personalized marketing activities. how can I add the indicator in profile snapshot regularly?
Option to save at end of work wouldn't work so decided to take snap shot of finished screen, went to Edit "take snapshot" and clicked - no snapshot taken that I can locate, and now the cursor won't show on that adobe page. I click on the adobe page and the cursor becomes crosshairs, and the page turns blue/burgundy - clicked again the colour goes but the page won't respond at all and crosshairs stay.
Tried to deselect snapshot under Edit by clicking on it again but nothin happens , the tick is still showing next to "take snapshot" - and I think this is why the cursor won't show and page not acting as it should. Anyone know how can I resolve this?
Im using the most recent version of Premiere CC on a PC and just ran into a strange issue.
The snapshot tool (camera icon) on the source and project monitor is NOT working. Well, actually,
none of the buttons are, whether it be play, marker, etc.
I tried changing the workspace, resetting it, undocking the panels, anything i could really think of.
For some reason none of these tools are responding, is this a glitch anyone ever experienced before?
The only thing I can think of is you may have had the project window or info palette or some other window selected when you were trying to use the snapshot function. Select the timeline or comp viewer window and try to take a snapshot.
Coming from Acrobat 8 Standard, there is a Snapshot tool, which lets you select an area (draw a box around) in an existing PDF, save it to your clipboard, then Paste the contents elsewhere. So if I have a chart image and some text on page 2 that also needs to be on page 14, I can draw a box around the chart on page 2, Take Snapshot, then go to page 14 and Paste, and the box and its contents are pasted there as-is (same size, formatting etc.). Select, Copy, Paste, what you see is what you get.
I am also having the same issue. Why would an upgrade not include such an important feature. When going to paste the snapshot the options is grayed out. If you cant copy and paste why is the option even there?
Does anyone know if there is some way to create snapshots on multiple images easily? For instance, suppose I processed a group of images and wanted to create a snapshot for all of them before making them grayscale. Is there some way to do this?

No - I want to create a snapshot in Lightroom. Snapshots essentially remember your settings so you can go back to them at a later point. In other words I could have one snapshot for color, one for black and white (on the same image) and then go back and forth between them easily.

vlumi is right, the virtual copies work really well for that -- when you make virtual copies, they are automatically put in a stack group with the original. So you can immediately use stack/unstack to condense into one or expand into many all the variations you make of the same photo.
Now heres the trick to doing a bunch all at once (windows version). You need to be in Library Module, and in Grid View. Select all the ones you want to make an extra virtual copy, (either from the grid or the bottom slide bar) right click and make the virtual copy.
If you are in loupe view, or in Developer module- it only seems to make a virtual copy of the last one you selected, not the whole range you selected.

I think what's being ask is if there's a way to "batch" making a snapshot. I ran across this recently but I ended up just doing it on each image one at a time because I couldn't find another way to do it. I wanted a color and B&W version of all my images.
The only way I could do it was to go through each image one at a time and make a color snapshot, then change each image to B&W, then back to each image for a B&W snapshot.
If there's a better way I'd love to know. :)

I also believe that virtual copy is the way to go. There is, however, a way to use the History palette to create Snapshots (yes they're really called that) at certain points in your post processing of an image.
In the Develop module on the left under the History panel heading you will see a list of the changes you've made to an image. Right-click on one of the entries and you will be offered the chance to create a snapshot and give it a name. you can continue to process the image and always go back to the named snapshot with its status at the time of the snapshot.
