So I took this course 17 years ago. It was taught free of charge under the guidance of gnostic teachers on a website I learned astral travel from this course alone with great success. It's composed of lectures and exercises meant to be practised over a period of 8 weeks. There's a different lecture and exercises for each week. I hope it will help those who struggle with astral projection.
Many people were able to experience conscious astral project for the first time. Throughout the course at home and during group exercises, it was not uncommon for people to have experiences, which was exciting for all involved.
The course culminated in the final week with a goal to project and meet up at a location in the astral plane. As such, hundreds of people in countries all over the world would practice on the last Saturday night of the course with the aim of meeting each other at the set location. Some of the set destinations included the Pyramids of Egypt, the planet Mars and Stonehenge. The resulting experiences people had were remarkable, with many people being able to travel in the astral to the location. Perhaps the most extraordinary experiences were those of people who had never met in person before but were able to meet each other in the astral at the location, and then later verify their meeting with each other in the course forums after they had woken up.
This was a practical nine-week course. It provided step-by-step guidance on how to explore another dimension of life beyond the body with a technique known as astral travel. It also explained how to remember dreams and grasp the knowledge and insights they often contain. It gave practical strategies to increase awareness and clarity in dreams, and to experience lucid dreaming.
Each week would introduce a time-tested technique to try, to enable participants to build their astral projection skills. It provided the methods, guidance, and approach needed to consciously project into the astral plane, and to travel to different places when out of the body. Many of the pitfalls often experienced by would-be astral travelers were addressed over the course, with helpful tips to overcome them.
Belsebuub first authored the written weekly course material for this course in 2001, which was freely distributed as PDF documents. Nearly every year after that, he would review and revise it as necessary.
Later on with the course I had a few conscious astral experiences and understood a lot about my dreams. The course completely changed my understanding to the different realities of life, and really, life itself. And looking back at that time, it does feel like it was a magical time.
Achieving my first glimpses into the astral realm by the techniques given on this course some time later I was amazed that I could actually exist consciously in another dimension, move about and interact with things and beings, etc.
I remember the atmosphere during the course evenings, it was full of enthusiasm and excitement. People from all over the area would gather in the Bay Area Gnostic Center in order to gain a conscious astral experience. The conversations were based around the practices and mystical subjects. It was always an uplifting time, especially the guided practices.
This course on Astral Travel and Dreams was a life changer for me! It was the first course I took with The Gnostic Movement in early 2002, which I did online. As a result of this course I had my first intentional conscious astral experiences and so many lucid dreams and I went on to learn so much more about life and true spirituality through this and the other TGM courses that followed. This of course would occur after you have already mastered moving a limb or your torso outside of your physical body. Once you are comfortable with the procedure for lifting your astral body outside of your physical body, you can then proceed to astral travel.

One reason this course was so popular was its practical focus. The structure of the course was aimed at helping people to either have their first conscious out-of-body experience, or to grow more skilled at astral traveling so they could have experiences more consistently and under greater control if they had spontaneously had astral experiences before. When participants were surveyed about their success with the practices and techniques in the astral course, 67% of people said that they had success in having an out-of-body experience within the first two months of taking the course.
One of the key benefits to the interactive, practice-based structure of the astral course (whether taking the course online or in a study center) was that people were able to gain insight and momentum by trying out the exercises together and hearing how other people approached them and what they experienced. The final week of the nine week course program culminated in a group exercise where course participants aimed to meet up out of the body, in the astral plane, at a set location that had mystical or spiritual significance. Locations chosen included sites such as the Great Pyramids of Egypt, Machu Picchu, Stonehenge, Glastonbury Tor, and others.
With hundreds of people worldwide doing this practice on the final Saturday night of the course round, a lot of group momentum was generated, and participants often reported success in either projecting to the chosen mystical location, having an out-of-body experience, waking up in a dream, having a symbolic dream, or even meeting others from the course in the astral plane.
She adds that it seems as though the self is in a different place to the body during OBE and astral projection, and that experience must of course be itself generated by the brain. Our brains create a model of reality, in response to the information received and interpreted.
Techniques for astral projection were also taught on the course as a means of gaining direct experience of spiritual truths in higher dimensions. Although Mark felt astral projection was important, he says he put most of his effort into self-knowledge.
Each week at the course in Gnosis, he was given a practical teaching session along with homework to do throughout the week. He says he would spend the week practicing diligently and then return the following week with the results of what he had discovered through his practice, saying that this is how he explored Gnosticism. He says, as he later found out, that this approach was very different to the one that most people in the organisation he was attending were taking.
Six months after beginning the courses, Mark was taught exercises of astral projection, also known as out-of-body experiences (OBEs), that would later feature prominently in his own courses and books, which he based upon his own astral experiences.
