Thank you for reading my blog.

Yes, it is not proper to have a glass dining table as the dining table
represents a person's career.

Thank you for your feedback on your friend who has a glass dining
table and is doing well in his career.

First of all, to understand fengshui, one has to go the deeper level.
As a general rule of thumb, it is never good to have a glass dining
table, hence simply cover it with a table cloth and then you can see
the results of a good change, two weeks later.

One also has to understand if there is more than one dining table in
the house ? some clients have two dining tables, as there is a smaller
table in the kitchen or that the family usually eat at the big coffee
table in front of their TV and seldom dine at the glass dining table ?
all of these matter in feng shui.

Then this friend of yours could have other family members whose bazi
bring him extra good career luck and so his career will always shine
as long as that person is staying with him. However, fengshui changes
and if there is a new addition to the family, their fortunes can go
either up or down.

I hope this satisfy your curious mind as I have spent 20 years in this
business and therefore have plenty of life's experiences.
;)

Hi Master Lynn Yap,

Hope you don't mind that I ask you a question on the glass table.

I have a rounded rosewood dinner table, on top of the table there is a glass piece cover the whole table face.

This case, can it be considered as glass table ? If Yes, do I need to have a table cloth?

Appreciate it if you can reply to my question. Cheers!

Hi

Thank you for your question.

If there is a glass on top of the dining table, there is "still a
piece of glass on it" and that makes the table "reflective".

It is generally acceptable by me although I prefer my clients to
remove the glass and throw it away and simply use that table as it is
as the table will last longer than the life span of any human being.
Yes, do place a cloth on it if you so wishes if not remove the glass
and see the difference in your career.
;)

Hi Master Lynn,

Just to clarify on the table cloth. Can it be those plastic kind which is water proof ?
But it can be reflective. Is it ok ?

Thanks,
Joanne

Thank you for your question.

If currently, you have a glass over the table and do not wish to throw
that away then yes, use those plastic type of table cloth or any nicer
ones will do. Just remember : to use and do what is best for the feng
shui for your dining table. Then, when you have the time then get
someone to help you remove that glass top or glass dining table away
and never give away your dining table, is like giving your career
away.

If you do remember ? in 1998 when we had the Asian Financial Crisis,
many homes that I went to , to do feng shui had a glass dining table
because at that time, a glass dining table was very very popular. Some
designers design it, others thought it was cool and look nice and
bought them and then their career went "hay wire". I told them to use
a table cloth first and till their career is more stable then to
change to a new 6 seater marble top or wooden dining table.

I remembered one client changed his dining table to a woodedn one and
within two weeks, he had a promotion and was stunned. After that
incident, he and his wife followed faithfully on what I advise them to
do and that includes having more children. These are what makes my job
satisfying to me, cause no amount of money can buy that.

Hello FSQ
Please advise....
1) I will be moving house and would like to change to a bigger dining table, so what to do with my current small dining table which you said it's like my career and can't give it away?

2) I'm your member and have been reading your weekly thoughts everyday and understand that you are very busy, even working on weekends so how many days in advance to book you for the fengshui audit to my new house which the TOP will be around July - Sept 09? What about your fee for a 2-bedroom condo? You had fengshuied my current house (2 times) about 7 years ago.

Thanks FSQ and best regards.
