Hi Master Lynn Yap,

From a Chinese Bazi reference book that I recently read, I learned
that there are some special types of Bazi charts. But I'm a Chinese
deprived of Chinese language education. So, I couldn't grasp very well
what the writter explained. I'm particularly interest to know more
about "Jin Shen Ge". In English, I think it is called Golden Spirit
Structure. The writer said, the basic criteria of such chart are as
follows:

a) Day pillar is Yi Chou, Ji Si or Gui You; and there must be fire
star in the month branch; OR
b) Day stem as Jia or Yi, the hour pillar as Yi Chou, Ji Si or Gui
You, and the there must be fire star in the month branch.

What's so special about this type of chart? Besides the
abovementioned criteria, is there any other prerequisite?

The chart below appears to have complied with the set a) criteria
mentioned above:

Wu-------Gui-------Ren--------Geng
Wu-------You------Wu---------Xu

Is this a Jin Shen Ge?

I've tried to analyse the strength of the DM and the fav and unfav
elements. This person was born in the 2nd month of summer, when fire
reigns supreme. Earth is strong in summer. In the chart, Earth is
also rooted. So, I think the Gui water DM is weak. A weak DM needs
parallel and resource, for which in his case is Water and Metal. Fire
and Earth are unfavorable.

But the writter says Fire is most favorable to a Jin Shen Ge Chart.
Whereas, water is unfavorable.

Could you kindly enlighten me on this matter?

Thanks.

Regards
Kah Yew
