I am thankful that in a troubled world no calamity can prevent the return of Spring.
- Helen Keller 1933

Greetings of Spring!

The return of spring encourages us to find comfort in nature's renewal despite challenging times. Even as wars, lies, and violence rage, cherry blossoms and daffodils are blooming again reminding us to notice beauty and to keep hope alive.

We are grateful for your consistent financial and moral support, and we always welcome your active participation in our work. We come to you again to invite your further collaboration.

You help us network with colleagues worldwide to meet today’s demands and challenges.

WATER’s Feminist Liberation Theologians’ Network (FLTN) discussed “What in the World is Going On?” at the annual in-person (also Zoomed) meeting in Boston in November 2025. Colleagues from around the world offered perspectives from a range of starting points, though no one actually foresaw the current war in the Middle East. Our work only intensifies.
Join the mid-year Zoom gathering on Wednesday, May 1, 2026, 1 PM ET, and the annual in-person meeting in Denver on Friday, November 20, 2026, 4 PM MT.

Your financial support helps host the FLTN gatherings in May and November.

You help us honor our ancestors.

WATER had the privilege of hosting the first public discussion of Catholicism: End or Beginning? by Mary Daly (1928-2010), Edited by Meg Stapleton Smith. We were joined by some of the authors of the chapters that accompany the newly discovered unfinished Daly manuscript: Lisa Sowle Cahill, Jennifer Rycenga, Xochitl Alvizo, and Mary E. Hunt. Video and notes can be found at: https://www.waterwomensalliance.org/catholicism-end-or-beginning-with-meg-stapleton-smith/.Please feel free to share this material with others.

Your financial support helps us continue to raise up the important work of feminist authors.

You help us expand our signature monthly programs internationally.

People from more than a dozen countries join our monthly Zoom programs: WATERmeditations,
WATERtalks, and WATERrituals. Join us for these upcoming April programs and invite others:

  •  4/3 “Rest in the Time of Chaos: It’s Mine and You Can’t Have It or Me!” with Jeanne Christensen, RSM
  • 4/15 Ashley M. Purpura on her new book Women in the Orthodox Tradition: Feminism, Theology, and Equality (Notre Dame, 2025) with Fordham University doctoral student Rachel Contos responding
  • 4/21 “Celebrate Earth Day: Our Power, Our Planet” with Diann Neu and the WATER community

Your financial support ensures that these programs continue.

In these dangerous times, we are convinced that WATER plays a part in reshaping the world into a place of peace, equity, and justice. We offer a community space of belonging and a literal font of resources for living interdependently.

May we count on you to make a generous and spirited gift to WATER today? You can donate online at www.waterwomensalliance.org or send your check to WATER, 8121 Georgia Avenue, Suite 310, Silver Spring MD 20910.

We believe that if we each share what we have, there is enough for everyone.

With gratitude, spring in our steps, and peace in our hearts!
