“Witnessing Womanist Wisdom"
with Diann L. Neu and the WATER Community

Womanist theologians and ministers are on the forefront of the struggles for liberation. They resist racial, gender, and class discrimination. They create systemic change and challenge others to do the same.

Join the WATER community to learn from among many forms of oppression, to be nourished and inspired by Womanist Wisdom, and to pray to make this world a place of justice, equality, and peace for all.

Art work by Katie Geneva Cannon, 2016.

“Sharing Love in Terrorizing Times”

Current events have tested our spiritual and political roots, filling many people with anxiety, uncertainty, disbelief, fear, and, with luck, a glimmer of hope. We gather to open our hearts to love and compassion at this difficult time. We will focus on loving ourselves, others, and the world. This Valentine's season, join us to share and pray as we recommit to acts of loving kindness, loving justice, and loving gratitude in the months ahead.

*This event is open to all Lesbian/Bisexual/
Transgender/Queer Women as well as those identifying as Nonbinary/Gender Expansive and all our women friends.

WATER Internship Program

Left to right: Magdalena Müller, Brooke Andrews, and Wed Naji

WATER Interns doing justice work.

Be a Part of an Action-based Community
Become a WATER Intern for 2026!

WATER welcomes students from seminaries, universities, and colleges to work in the WATER Office. Interns engage in the full range of activities at WATER, from office work to program planning. They learn how to run a small non-profit and what it takes to nurture an Alliance.

Interns wishing to do their own research have a chance to utilize WATER’s constantly growing Resource Center. They work with our experienced staff on projects.

Interns must commit to a minimum of six weeks and can stay for as long as a year or more. Participants are encouraged to apply for academic credit from their home institutions for their work at WATER. We are delighted to work with programs which sponsor volunteers with expenses shared by WATER as the on-site placement.

Check out our Internship Application at https://www.waterwomensalliance.org/interns/ for more details. Give us a call or email us if you have any questions about the program!
