Click bait and AI slop.  Much of the commentary is likely accurate.  However, it's difficult to tell without any sources.  The opinions expressed in the video are just opinions and are no better than professionally packaged commentary.

More of the same:

I was wondering about the veracity of this myself.  It's tone seems
a bit hyperbolic to me.  Still, probably at least a grain of truth -- Windoze
has been so dominant for 30+ years and it seems likely that it will fade
sometime.  macOS is certainly making headway and we do see the
announcements about various governmental bodies who are switching
to Linux.

But I am also concerned about the future of Linux.  It seems that most of
the world really does think that open source  is free beer and does not understand
that someone needs to do the work to develop and maintain. Lots -- most? --
open source projects have had a corporate sponsor who pays some people
to work on those projects and more and more of those companies have been
laying off the people who did that work and usually contributed about 80% of
the effort required to support the various open source projects.

Some companies contribute financially -- like Amazon is pretty generous with
AWS space for open source projects -- but few are willing to contribute talented
engineers for the work.  I've seen mention of the need to have some sort of
"foundation" that pays some people to work on open source projects and that
seems like an interesting solution but I don't know if anyone is actively working
on putting that together.  In the short term, a lot of the open source true believers
will provide some minimal support to the defunded projects but that is not a sustainable
model for the long haul.

So the times, they are a-changin' and I'm not sure any of us are quite prepared for it...

I guess I wasn’t the only one who had trouble with Windows 11. We will see what evolves.

If it makes you feel any better, I also had trouble, and continue to have trouble, with Windows 11.  The main problem seems to be that Microsoft now believes in "customer tested software".  They ship whatever they have, wait for the complaints and bug reports to accumulate, and eventually deploy an AI to fix the code:
https://techcrunch.com/2025/04/29/microsoft-ceo-says-up-to-30-of-the-companys-code-was-written-by-ai/
Maybe some testing, but most likely, MS just updates the users Windows installation and again waits for the complaints and bug reports to accumulate.

I forgot to mention that Bill Gates has not been CEO since 2000 and has not been on the board of directors since 2020.  Satya Nadella has been CEO since 2000.

Windows OS is only 10% of Microsoft revenue, naturally it gets minimal attention.
