A fantastic opportunity for students interested in the U.S. Public Health Service (USPHS) Commissioned Corps. The annual open application period for the Junior (JR) and Senior (SR) Commissioned Officer Student Training Extern Program's (COSTEP) is now open until Sept 30, 2024.
What is COSTEP? COSTEPs are highly competitive, active-duty uniformed service programs designed for full-time students pursuing their qualifying degrees. These programs offer invaluable experience and exposure to public health service, with a limited number of applications accepted per program.
Junior COSTEP (JRCOSTEP)
Active Duty Period: 31-120 days during school breaks.
Eligibility: Students must be scheduled to return to college/university or enter a postgraduate degree program within three months of completing the assignment.
Application Period: August 1 – September 30, 2024.

Senior COSTEP (SRCOSTEP)
Active Duty Period: During the final year of academic study.
Service Obligation: Equal to twice the time sponsored upon graduation.
Application Period: August 1 – September 30, 2024.
Eligibility: Students graduating in 2026 or early 2027.
