Dear Friends,

Does this title sound strange, contradictory and crazy? Please read on and don't mine my longish mail- it is straight from the heart . And I am seeking your help where possible to help zillions of impoverished and needy!

I am involved with a global social impact group (see intro video by Nobel laureate Yunus) ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cu0X63Ma7Z8 ) focused on improving rural livelihoods, access to improved basic healthcare and education thru simple but innovative technology usage models more targeted at the Base of the Pyramid.

Some of you may know about my work focused on improving the livelihoods and lives of small holder farmers- addressing issues of farm productivity and food security. Here is a sampler video from last months NYC UN General Assembly showcase:

Similar to this but in the area of improving healthcare access to poor women, we are in the process of developing applications and wearables (such as bangles, necklaces with embedded sensors) that monitor and report vitals back to the doctor and thereby provide early detection and solving of health problems.

We all know that irrespective of what strata of society, jewelry is a "want to have" item for women. The thought is to come up with innovative and attractive designs that look chic and appealing to slum dwellers and rural poor folks, to encourage usage and adoption of this low cost tech innovations.

Now the reason for my reaching out to you is to check if you know anyone in the jewery design space, who could help come up with innovative and attractive designs that could be used for pilots and if successful be put into production. Bear in mind that this is for a social cause that could have a global footprint.

Please feel free to forward to anyone in your circles who you think may be a fit and ready for this kind of initiative. They can contact me directly (+91 9845150087) or on my email.

Advance apologies if this email is seen as being inappropriate to circulate amongst Rotarians.

Thank you all in advance for your good will and assistance to enable bridging a serious divide,

Sincerely
Srini
