The Seventy Weeks Of Daniel

The Visions Of Daniel: Appendix 89 & Daniel Chapters 7-12

The 5 Specific "Times" and "Days" Mentioned In The Book Of Daniel.

1. Dan 7:25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

2. Dan 8:14 And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.

3. Dan 12:7 And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.

4. Dan 12:11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.

5. Dan 12:12 Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.

In addition To the 5 periods of time we have the 70 weeks (years) recorded in Daniel chapter 9:

69 of these weeks or years were completed at the "cutting off of the messiah"

The last or "Seventieth Seven" is yet to come (See Appendix 91.)

The other 5 periods of time mentioned in the Book of Daniel are to be referred to as the last "Seven"

The "Seventy Weeks" (sevens) are to be reckoned as years; however, we are not talking about the modern 365 day year but we are actually talking about the original Jewish Calendar year which consisted of 360 days. Therefore one "Seven" is 360 x 7 = 2,520 days.

Based on knowing that the first "Sixty Nine" weeks were completed at the cutting off of the Messiah; that is, the crucifixtion of Christ and that the last "Seven" has yet to be - the terminus a quo or starting point (in laymen's terms) is determined by the phrase "in the midst of the week" which is the last seven of years; that is, 1,260 days or 3 1/2 years, equally both before and after the midst of the week. Understanding that the midst of the week is in the middle of the Seventy Sevens will alleviate much confusion. To determine the terminus a quo or starting point we must go backwards from the midst of the week 1,260 days.

According to Daniel 9:27 "The prince that shall come" (The Antichrist) "will make a covenant with many for one week" (that is, seven years)

According to Daniel 11:23 the Antichrist will break the covenant that he made just 3 1/2 yrs. after it is established. Nowhere in scripture does it state why he will break this covenant; however, it should not be a surprise to you that he (Satan) can't keep his word because he is in fact a phony or a play actor pretending to be Christ or More specifically Lucifer the Christ that Bright and Morning Star. The whole world will whore after this false one believing that he is the one true God but he is not for he is antichrist. The word league in verse 23 can be translated as covenant making it more clear. With the breaking of this covenant we see the daily sacrifice "taken away", and the "abomination" of desolation (or the desolater better translated) set up, and the beginnings of Jacob's Trouble of Jer 30:7 which will ensue for 3 1/2 yrs.

Jer 30:7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.

It is the "midst of the week" that determines both the starting point and the end point of these numbered days in Daniel's Vision.

In Daniel 8:14 it says, "then shall the sanctuary be cleansed". In regards to this "cleansing", all the specific 5 periods harmonize and synchronize at the end while Daniel 12:11 and 12:12 are prolonged beyond the close of the 1,260 days by two important periods of days which are a 30 day period in 12:11 and a 75 day period in 12:12. The first extended or prolonged period in Dan 12:11 is 1,290 days which is 1,260 + 30 making it 1,290 days total. And the second extended period of time in Dan 12:12 of 75 yrs. should be understood as an intercalary (or inserted) month of 30 days of cleansing following the destruction of the antichrist and the break up of his confederacy or One World Political/Religious system. This period could possibly be designated for the construction of the new "Sanctuary" of Eze 40-43 which will be built after the destruction of the Jewish (Kenite) temple which will be built by the sons of Cain prior to it's profanation by antichrist; that is, to say Satan.

Now regarding the the 1335 days in Dan 12:12, this is 1,260 days with and extension of 75 days, being an excess of 45 days longer than than the 1,290 days mentioned in Dan 12:11. So the 1,335 days can be broken down as thus: 1,260 + 30 + 45.

If the 30 days are a period of cleansing and "making righteous" the new Holy "Sanctuary" then that extended 45 day period of cleansing would cover the preparation time necessary to fulfill the prophecy spoken of in Psalm 45 this will also include the resurrection of the dead in...

Dan 12:2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

Lets go ahead and read Psalm 45 in it's entiredy so that we can have a better understanding of what we are talking about:

Psa 45:1 To the chief Musician upon Shoshannim, for the sons of Korah, Maschil, A Song of loves. My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.

Psa 45:2 Thou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into thy lips: therefore God hath blessed thee for ever.

Psa 45:3 Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O most mighty, with thy glory and thy majesty.

Psa 45:4 And in thy majesty ride prosperously because of truth and meekness and righteousness; and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things.

Psa 45:5 Thine arrows are sharp in the heart of the king's enemies; whereby the people fall under thee.

Psa 45:6 Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.

Psa 45:7 Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

Psa 45:8 All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made thee glad.

Psa 45:9 Kings' daughters were among thy honourable women: upon thy right hand did stand the queen in gold of Ophir.

Psa 45:10 Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear; forget also thine own people, and thy father's house;

Psa 45:11 So shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy Lord; and worship thou him.

Psa 45:12 And the daughter of Tyre shall be there with a gift; even the rich among the people shall intreat thy favour.

All will bow in worship before our Father even the Kenite.

Psa 45:13 The king's daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of wrought gold.

this is a reference to God's Election, His Saints or set aside one's; that is, those who overcome until the end...they are the righteous bride and Christ is our Glorious King. The marriage body of a man and a woman as one is an example for us to understand how we are inheritors of Christ's Kingdom.

Psa 45:14 She shall be brought unto the king in raiment of needlework: the virgins her companions that follow her shall be brought unto thee.

Psa 45:15 With gladness and rejoicing shall they be brought: they shall enter into the king's palace.

This is speaking symbolically of the Holy sanctuary that will be set up after the destruction of the antichrist and his confederacy.

Psa 45:16 Instead of thy fathers shall be thy children, whom thou mayest make princes in all the earth.

We who believe are children of God and only those whom believe on Christ will remain in the eternity.

Psa 45:17 I will make thy name to be remembered in all generations: therefore shall the people praise thee for ever and ever.

Evil cannot exist in the Presence of God; therefore, only those who love him will inherit the Eternal Kingdom. Evil will be blotted out, meaning no more Satan, fallen angels or flesh. The rudiments (evil elements) will be wiped away or blotted out for ever by our LORD the consuming fire.

So you can probably see that it is this extended 45 day period that is necessary to prepare the temple for the wedding ceremony and the bringing about the Godhead.

Blessed are those that make it to the 1,335th day, enduring Jacob's Trouble and who are counted worthy to be participators of the scenes of great Glory spoken of in Psalm 45. And what a day that will be my friends.

There is some difficulty that arises with the 2,300 days spoken of in Dan 8:14. The ending point of this period is the same as the other 4 specific periods of time; however, the terminus a quo or staring point of this specific period falls 220 days short of the commencement or the beginning of the "seventieth seven" or final week of daniel's vision which covers the time of Christ's crucifixtion to the time that the Sanctuary being cleansed.

Though it is not clear what event will mark the beginning of the 2,300 days it will be known by those who endure the time of Jacob's Trouble. It say's in Dan 12.10 "the wise (in that day) shall understand". The event or events that mark the commencement of these 2,300 days could be a political or social/religious crisis in connection with the Anti-christ and his one world system however for now nobody knows. In Daniel Chapter 8 it is somewhat revealing; speaking of the ram and he-goat, which possibly represent Medo-Persia and Greece. Regardless, the exact event is not given to us in plain language and is therefore hidden for the wise who overcome the time of trouble. For now this information is not necessary to understand but what is important is that you know that this prophecy involves a 2,300 day period.

In an effort for us to get better acquainted with this subject I think we should go ahead and read all of Chapter 8:

Dan 8:1 In the third year of the reign of king Belshazzar a vision appeared unto me, even unto me Daniel, after that which appeared unto me at the first.

Dan 8:2 And I saw in a vision; and it came to pass, when I saw, that I was at Shushan in the palace, which is in the province of Elam; and I saw in a vision, and I was by the river of Ulai.

Dan 8:3 Then I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, there stood before the river a ram which had two horns: and the two horns were high; but one was higher than the other, and the higher came up last.

Dan 8:4 I saw the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward; so that no beasts might stand before him, neither was there any that could deliver out of his hand; but he did according to his will, and became great.

Dan 8:5 And as I was considering, behold, an he goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes.

Dan 8:6 And he came to the ram that had two horns, which I had seen standing before the river, and ran unto him in the fury of his power.

Dan 8:7 And I saw him come close unto the ram, and he was moved with choler against him, and smote the ram, and brake his two horns: and there was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him: and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand.

Dan 8:8 Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven.

Dan 8:9 And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land.

Dan 8:10 And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them.

Dan 8:11 Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.

Dan 8:12 And an host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practised, and prospered.

Dan 8:13 Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?

Dan 8:14 And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.

Dan 8:15 And it came to pass, when I, even I Daniel, had seen the vision, and sought for the meaning, then, behold, there stood before me as the appearance of a man.

Dan 8:16 And I heard a man's voice between the banks of Ulai, which called, and said, Gabriel, make this man to understand the vision.

Dan 8:17 So he came near where I stood: and when he came, I was afraid, and fell upon my face: but he said unto me, Understand, O son of man: for at the time of the end shall be the vision.

Dan 8:18 Now as he was speaking with me, I was in a deep sleep on my face toward the ground: but he touched me, and set me upright.

Dan 8:19 And he said, Behold, I will make thee know what shall be in the last end of the indignation: for at the time appointed the end shall be.

Dan 8:20 The ram which thou sawest having two horns are the kings of Media and Persia.

Dan 8:21 And the rough goat is the king of Grecia: and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king.

Dan 8:22 Now that being broken, whereas four stood up for it, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power.

Dan 8:23 And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up.

Dan 8:24 And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people.

Dan 8:25 And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.

Dan 8:26 And the vision of the evening and the morning which was told is true: wherefore shut thou up the vision; for it shall be for many days.

Dan 8:27 And I Daniel fainted, and was sick certain days; afterward I rose up, and did the king's business; and I was astonished at the vision, but none understood it.

In understanding the entire 70 weeks of Daniel Chapter 9:24-27 there are 3 divisions of time to decipher.

I. The First Period: is seven sevens or 49 years which is quite easy to understand compared to the next two divisions.

II. The 2nd Period: is the threescore and two sevens (weeks) 434 years from 405B.C. to 29A.D. Is 60 x 7 = 420 + two sevens or two weeks added gives us 434 years total, making it 29A.D. which is the year of the cutting off of the Messiah or Crucifiction. This was 483 years after the issuing of the decree giving in 454 B.C. to cut off the seedline. 434 + 49 = 483. The cutting off of the Messiah is stated as being after the threescore and two weeks or two sevens. In other words after the sixty-two weeks Messiah will be cut off.

III. The 3rd Period: This is the last seven of which as yet to be accounted for. One way we can know that this is speaking of a future time is that none of the events of Daniel 9:24 that mark the end of this week have yet to happen. According to Bullinger, "These belong to the whole seventy-sevens, and are thus connected with the seventieth or last seven, being the object and end of the whole prophecy."

The Messiah was to "have nothing" that was His, "after" the cutting off. We are talking about after Christ's Crucifixtion and the rejection of his kingdom which has been the case for 2000+ years or so. The glorious things spoken of Him and the people who love him and overcome that time of trouble have yet to happen.
