Poster art final version. The story behind the poster is the red Africa on blue represents the the sign Fela had at the entrance of the original Shrine over that is a painted image of Fela created by Ghariokwu Lemi. Lemi created most of Fela's iconic political album covers and he painted this image of Fela with his signature double fists in the air. The colors used are based on Marcus Garvey's back to Africa movement and are the basis for a lot of the art work done by Lemi for Fela and the Shrine.

Alex and Jack I have an offer from The WSJ to do a first look of the Fela poster before Sundance.  Barbara Chai a writer for their very popular blog Speakeasy (highest trafficked) would like to feature the poster in anticipation of Sundance.  Barbara is going to Sundance and has expressed early interest in the film.  Speakeasy has 1.655 million unique viewers a month and and strong social media presence.

New York Magazine's Vulture editors have expressed interest but would have to see the poster first before committing to an offer.  Vulture has 549,00 unique hits a month, and a strong social media presence as well.

Let me know if any of this interests you.  D
