Europe & Me magazine: join the team
Deadline: March 7th
Have you ever noticed that almost all media have a national angle? Would you like to change the way we write about Europe? And do you want to be part of an international team which stretches from Russia to Portugal, via Amsterdam and New York? Europe & Me magazine is currently looking for new editors. Apply online at europeandme.eu/apply by the 7th of March 2013.
Europe & Me is Europe's first online lifestyle magazine created by young Europeans for young Europeans. It’s both transnational and personal - a magazine for the whole self, as innovative and exciting as it is intellectually challenging. The project is fully voluntary and not for profit, and all positions are unpaid.
Europe & Me is looking for an editor and a webmaster.
As an editor:
-
You will head one of the six sections of the magazine. You'll decide which stories we run and how they are presented.
-
You'll be responsible for motivating your authors, assessing their work and giving them direction.
-
You'll have the right to decide on most matters related to the running of the magazine: partnerships, financial matters, marketing strategies, organisational structure, future projects and workshops
-
You’ll have the opportunity to get involved in project management, which might mean planning and organising a training workshop for European journalists, running a debating event or creating a journalism prize. This is a great way to gain experience in writing funding applications and learning how to organise a budget!
This role places you at the core of the magazine - an expanding project with plenty of opportunity for you to use your own creativity.
The webmaster is a flexible role, which would depend on your interests: Europe & Me is primarily looking for a webmaster, but if you'd like to be involved in layouting articles, training others, or developing new features for the website, you're very welcome to take on these roles! You'll get useful experience in a whole range of areas, and meet people from all over Europe.
Experience in web design (especially joomla) is advantageous, but not required.
Interested? Think you could help? Have an idea to push our magazine forward? Get in touch! For more information, contact appli...@europeandme.eu. Deadline for applications: 7th of March 2013.
