If nothing else helps, you may want to check whether the (Dec 11, 2020) updated HP Printer Drivers v5.1 for macOS package download from Apple at =en_US would work. To begin with, reset the printing system. Verify that your printer is recognised. Is there an appropriate driver to use (perhaps something like the HP LaserJet CP1025, or another similar HP printer)? Look upon this as an experiment. It may not work. There is always a certain risk involved with an experiment. Software conflicts cannot be ruled out. Data may be lost. A hardware problem is unlikely, but it is impossible to guarantee anything. Make sure that you have multiple backup copies of important files before you start.

I am sorry you are having this problem. There are some options. If you will bear with me, I will offer some things to consider. Whenever we install an operating system upgrade or some OS updates, printers and scanners will often stop working. Then a new OS compliant printer driver must be installed as you have found out. Experience has shown that many printer manufacturers are very slow to provide updated drivers. Drivers for some older printers are never provided. (Apparently, they prefer to sell new printers.) What we can do is to thoroughly check the printer web site for an updated driver that works. Some people have reported that when a Big Sur driver was not available, they were able to use a Catalina driver and it did work. It is worth trying. If one is not available, then we should ask when one will be released. If that doesn't work, if your Printer has the Air Print feature, that can be used and no driver will be needed. If not, then you can check the web site below where volunteers write drivers for older printers which are no longer supported, but which work with newer operating systems. It is worth checking out. Good luck.

This worked for me, but I am not able to print oil color. I have tried numerous other drivers and not been able to find any others that work, so I'll go with the HP Laserjet 1022, 1.6.1 for now. Thanks for posting this work around.

Forget the HP Driver page, their recommended driver 5.1 with easy start does not work with Big Sur. Instead turn on your printer and light the blue led to make it WiFi discoverable. Go to preferences and open Network preferences>select HP-print-A5-1025 network then go to the add printer dialog and select "bonjour" printer dialog.

I have a great HP LaserJet CP1025 color for the last 10 years. it is still working fine and great. Now, I have installed a CUPS print server on a Pi. But, with the provided drivers all lines are blurry and unsharp. And the colors do not match. We installed HPlib already, for sure. And directly connected to windows, with the windows driver, everything is fine and crystal clar.

We assume it is missing the correct Linux driver. Can somebody pls point me to a linux driver of the
HP LaserJet CP1025 COLOR ?

Thanks for trying to help. The link you send seems to refer to downloading the HPLiP in the end. Unfortunately we did that already. But, that brings us back to the original request: there is nor dedicated driver for the CP 1025 COLOUR in the libary.

I'm afraid you will not be able to print from your Mac to this printer. This is because of the absence of a printer driver. Due to its age, there are no drivers available for this printer to work on macOS 11 or later on the HP Support site.

However, Gutenprint (formerly called Gimp-Print) provides open-source basic print drivers for many printers that would otherwise not be supported in Mac OS X. To see if your printer is supported, go to Gutenprint drivers for more information.

If you want to attach your printer to your PC using the USB cable. It'snot that difficult. You can install thehplip package, which is available in the Debian and Fedora repositories. Probably otherdistributions' as well. When you run hp-setup, you get an ugly guitool to configure your printer, that downloads the correct freedomhating driver. But it works. (You can also run it in the console:hp-setup -i)

Now, where I live, I don't have room for a printer in the living room.So the printer is in the attic, attached to a Raspberry Pi printserver. But for that to work, I need a client sideprinter driver. And that is a problem. The hplip tools don't want tobelieve me that there is a HP Laserjet CP1025 on the network. And Icould not find out how to configure a CUPS network printer with thehplip drivers.

What you need, is the 'foo2zjs' printer driver. Which might be in yourpackage repository. Which might even be already installed on yoursystem. But don't use the one from the repositories! It does notwork. I don't know why either.

Be careful now when you add your printer. The driver name is:HP LaserJet Pro CP1025nw Foomatic/foo2zjs-z3 (en). Which is,becasuse of the Pro in the name, on a completely different place in thealphabetical list than the other (nonfunctional) cp1025 drivers, whichdon't mention 'Pro'.

You might want to look for newer drivers on HP's site. This HP support page says that Apple no longer provides print drivers through Apple Software Update (not sure about drivers on Apple Support Web pages), and has a link to HP's driver site.

I had the same issue before, and a colleague told me to try this site for software and drivers, where I luckily found one for my HP printer too. Give it a try if you can find one that will work for your HP printer.

An additional driver plug-in is required to operate this printer. You may download the plug-in directly from an HP authorized server (recommended), or, if you already have a copy of the file, you can specify a path to the file (advanced).

HP LaserJet Pro CP1025 Color driver supports a variety of Windows operating system which includes Windows Vista and Windows 7 with 1 GHz processor and 1 GB RAM. The other versions of windows are windows XP, and Windows 8 with 200 MHz or 1.0 GHz processor and 512 MB, 2 GB RAM. This printer also supports Macintosh operating system which includes Mac OS X v10.5, 10.6, 10.7, and 10.8. For installation of HP LaserJet Pro CP1025 Color driver file, you need a 200 MB or 2GB free disk space available in Windows operating system.

This printer speed depends on complexity of documents and it also performs the function of panorama size printing. It uses drop-on-demand thermal inkjet for document printing with PCL3 GUI language. Download HP LaserJet Pro CP1025 Color Printer driver from HP website
