The statehouse, especially the Agriculture Committees, need some
occupying. We've got to let our legislators know that we need to take
a notch out of Monstersanto. The GMO Right To Know labeling law is at
risk of being killed on Friday. The concern is over how the bill will
hold up in court and if the state is willing to fight the monster. If
we overwhelm them Wednesday and Thursday it'll really make a
difference. No gmo's, no monster corporate control of our food supply.

If you're a Vermonter please call and email often between now and
Friday closing. If you can go to the Statehouse, do so and find your
legislator. You can walk right in to a committee room and pass them a
note even if they are in a meeting. Stop by the Agriculture Committee,
and at least leave a message for Carolyn Partridge, Committee Chair.
This kind of action really does make a difference in Vermont. It's our
statehouse and they know it, here.

In case you are not sure what to say...
“I support H.722. We have a right to know what we are eating. Please
urge your colleagues on the House Agriculture Committee to give H.722
a fair hearing and pass it by this Friday.”
Ask your representative to call you back.

Not a Vermonter? There are similar efforts in Connecticut, Rhode
Island, Maine, California, Washington, and Oregon. There is also a
national campaign waged on the FDA http://justlabelit.org/

I know it seems like like throwing pebbles to deter a dragon but we
have got to start getting a foothold to take down the monsters. If
there were labels, no one would buy the shit, and regular folks would
have a chance at even knowing gmo's exist.

    Hi all,

It's been a minute since my last email. I got a good number of replies
from different folks/groups, and most are into a coordinating meeting,
to hear about what all of our groups have done, and what we're in the
midst of doing. To refresh, groups that i'm in contact with include
the OWS Food Justice WG, Feed the Movement, RadicalFood, and Occupy
Farms. Oh and there's the group working towards a sort of
    collective/anarchist restaurant in downtown BK.

There's an awful lot of meetings going on, but i'd propose next
tuesday evening? Or Wed could work too. What do people think?

If I can get a sense of the numbers we're talking about, i will try to
find a suitable space to meet.

    food! solid!
    Will
