Hi,

I am trying to make an rss MailChimp campaign.

I want all of my recent posts, through rss to show as excerpt with one image.

Currently, only the post excerpts (summaries) are showing up.

The MailChimp help told me I need to edit my feed to put the image as part of the summary.

My feed is showing full posts right now, but is there a way to edit the summary to be summary + image?  (I would be fine if the feed had to become this too)

Thanks for any help.  I don't see how to "edit" the feed -- except in the XML format, but I want this to be automatic.

I REALLY appreciate any advice.  I have been up and around, talking to so many people to try to figure this out for a simple weekly newsletter!

Thanks, Amy

Email from MailChimp:

Hi Amy,

Thanks for reaching back out to MailChimp support. I'll be more than happy to provide some clarification on how to get those images to show up with the summaries of your posts.

In order for those RSS tags to pull images in those images will have to present in the feed. Feedburner is definitely one of those "popular blog softwares" which would just be certain feed providers many people use, and it may be the case that they allow you to add images to the feed within the summary of each post. It would be necessary to reach out to Feedburner's support team in order to get assistance with setting up the feed to include images for each summary.

If those images were present in the feed itself, in each summary, however, then using that *|RSS:POSTS_HTML|* tag should work to bring each image in along with each summary.

Really nothing to do with Feedburner, but what system you're using the blog that provides the Original Feed to feedburner.
So are you using Blogger, Wordpress, Weebly, Livejournal, Squarespace , something else ?

Note that not all of the above can provide what you ask.
One option in Blogger would be to use Jump Breaks in your posts, set your feed to 'Until Jump Break',
and put any image you want included in the feed before the jump break.

But since wildflowerramblings.com appears to be using wordpress, you need to ask in Wordpress support forums.
There may be a wordpress plugin to allow doing what you need.
(such as http://wordpress.org/plugins/rss-image-feed/ , possibly several others)

Of course, changing what you have in http://wildflowerramblings.com/feed/ (which you should use as the source for Mailchimp)
would also affect what you have in http://feeds.feedburner.com/wildflowerramblings/KpAa

You're also going to want to reconsider having W3 Total Cache enabled for your feed URLs.
