A few weeks ago my airsafety.info/wp feeds stopped going out.
Feedmedic successfully pings my feed, but when I verify the original
feed I get an error - although the Feedburner feed is usually
successful. So I resync the feed and everything appears well - but
the feeds still aren't going out. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

I still haven't figured out what is going on, but I've learned that my
feed changed from http://airsafety.info/wp/?feed=rss2 to
http://airsafety.info/wp/feed. I have no idea how or why it changed.
As soon as I reset it in FMP and scheduled an email it went right out.

The old feed tested fine (usually) in Feedmedic which could ping or
verify it. However, clicking the live bookmark icon in Firefox showed
me the new feed.

Can anyone explain what's going on so I can prevent a reoccurrence?
It would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

John

Hi John,

Although I'm not 100% sure, it could be due to a few things:
1. slow response time on the feed (> 10 seconds) from an overloaded server
2. format of the feed (you mentioned some errors)

In any event if you reset it in FMP and it's working now you should be all set.  Either the format or response time probably corrected it.  Note that you can also provide FMP with FeedBurner feed urls.  These usually are speedy and have good formatting.  Although if what you have is working now I don't see any reason to change it now.  Hope it helps!

Thank you,
Brian Armstrong

Thanks, Brian. I still don't understand what happened, but, as you
say, its working now so let's not touch it.

Using the Feedburner feed URL is a good tip, but isn't it tied to the
original (not working) feed URL until the system is resynced? (Or does
resyncing change it at all?)

Best,

John

Hi John,

You can also change which feed FeedBurner uses by logging in to their system and pointing it to the right spot.

Thank you,
