More love was put into these guys than most of the main factions. The models look beautiful too, and they utilize a lot of seldom heard tomb-king desert music to give them their own score. The only issue is recycled voice lines. Rebuilding the Sultanate was probably the most fun I've had since taking back K8P as Skaranik.
Active oceans - You already make most of your money from trade, this mod adds merchant fleets who will arrive at your cities along trade routes to make you WAY more trade money IF you can keep the oceans safe enough for them to arrive alive (aka take Sartosa) You can also use your unique diplomacy options to ally various naval factions you couldn't otherwise, effectively taking control of the worlds oceans. (Still no naval combat tho)
Perhaps the most tangible influence of the New Model Army, however, was its impact on the way England fought. Members could not be part of the House of Lords or the House of Commons in order to avoid political factions, and unlike previous militias, the New Model Army was not tied to any one area or garrison: it was a national force.
However, it became clear that it was primarily Cromwell who was holding the army together. Following his death in 1658, the New Model Army lacked a clear leader, and factions began to develop and it was eventually disbanded.
The nonviolent factions model the power of nonviolence discussed here, and have the tools needed to determine the fate of India. These are just a few examples of the ways that active, nonviolent resistance has been incorporated into Gandhi.
The mod itself looks very promising. Its goal is to create a full Middle Earth campaign complete with 19 playable factions, model designs based on those from WETA Workshop (who worked on movies), and custom units and settlements. We first covered it back in 2018 when it hit alpha, but it's come a long way since then.
Within the order, however, there was a significant resistance to these new directions. Toward the end of the thirteenth century, various minority factions, known collectively as Spirituals, demanded a literal observance of the rule and refused to submit to the modifications accepted by the majority of friars.
