There is actually one more step that needs to be done. By following the steps above the COM port added in the Device Manager will have an arbitrary number. Not necessarily the same number you created in GpsGate.
Title is basically it. I'm in the world of public safety. Another agency asked for help with GPS not working with new equipment. Looks like their MDT software will only ingest GPS data through a COM port. Looking for software supplicants to eat up the GPS sentences sent over UDP via TAIP or NMEA protocol and spit it out to a COM port. Colleague mentioned they had used franson gpsgate--the suggestion was met with groans, sounds like the software is a POS. Anyone have suggestions as alternative to gpsgate?
