I've installed this plug-in and activated the new experimental feature
- but the number of subscribers that Feedburner shows is much lower
than what I really have - my Feedburner history shows a huge dip
downward from when I turned it on. Anyone else having this issue?

Hmm, much much of a dip are we talking about, in percent? Do you know
which agent has dipped the most? Any one sticking out of the stats?
Could it be the ones which collect for multiple accounts and report it
in the user-agent (ex. Googles Feedfetcher or Bloglines)?

Yeah those two definitely look a lot lower - I'm showing 70 something
total now - whereas before I was up at 330 total. I'll check tomorrow
AM and see what it says.

Hmm, it could be that FeedBurner doesn't like the extra IP information
in some of the user-agents so it just doesn't count them; or just
counts them as one now, as its construction isn't quite the same
anymore. I think maybe adding exceptions for the mass-collectors which
report the number of subscribers might help the situations.
I'll look into that, and add another little experimental option :-)

I will gladly test it! Thanks again, Geoff

Ok, I've added a new option now to ignore user-agents which report
'subscriber' and 'feed-id'. You can go here:
http://feedburnerstats.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/feedburner_stats/feedburner_stats.php
and just copy'n'paste the whole code into your feedburner_stats.php
file.
Remember to go into Options - FeedBurner Stats and enable the new
options.

Let me know how this works out for you! (I've enabled the option for
my site too, so I'll be tracking it too)

Just installed it and turned on the additional option - will report
back - thanks again! Best, Geoff

Haven't seen any change yet - just checked the stats - will check
again tomorrow AM as I think Feedburner updates only once a day.

Just checked the stats still in the 70s (used to be in the 300s).

Checked again this AM - no move in the stats - still in the 70s. Best,
Geoff

Just checking in - are you having the same results on your end?

Unfortunatly, yes, I see the same results here.
So, that option didn't have any effect at all.

I have to ponder a bit on what else we can do to tweak up the results.
I'm open for suggestions!
One thing is that maybe feedburner simply ignores the agents that
containing the IP address for agents which don't contain parenthesis
already; that maybe they have some regexp failing. So that might be an
option. Have several ways to add the IP number for agents built up in
different ways..
