Our feed located at http://feeds.feedburner.com/junkfooddinner which pulls from:

https://www.junkfooddinner.com/feeds/posts/default?alt=rss&max-results=88

hasn't been updating properly for at least a few days. Try as I might today to ping or resync the feed, it's still missing the past two mp3 enclosures (present in the original feed, but not showing up in FeedBurner's feed).

I've checked the original feed with various validator tools and it appears to be valid, so we're at a loss as to why it's unable to be synced to FeedBurner.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'll take a look. It seems like it should have updated. I'll see what I can find out.

I'm having the same problem, but the feedburner feed looks totally messed up.  It's also missing the 5 new items that were added today.

I realize you said that the ping isn't working, so I waited for the hour to be up for normal updating, but it's still a mess.

If you look at the actual feed at https://www.taxtips.ca/feed.xml, it looks fine.  W3C says the feed looks fine.

Hoping you can offer a suggestion!
Thanks!

Hi djk,

The feed you are seeing in the browser is actually find. It doesn't render well in Chrome, depending on the type of feed. I used curl to grab your feed and put it in W3C from FeedBurner and it is valid. I realize this is jarring compared to the HTML that FeedBurner used to produce but if you put your feed into a reader or podcatcher it will work fine. I can take a look to see why Chrome isn't formatting the same as your source feed but it is low priority compared to the update issue. I'll take a look and see if your issue is the same as the one above. Stay tuned.

Both your feeds should now be updated. Thank you both. You helped us find a bug that was going to be very difficult to hunt down without some examples of when it fails.  I apologize for the inconvenience and please reach out again if you have any other questions.

@djk, I'll see if I can figure out why the valid RSS is not formatting in Chrome.

Thanks. Confirmed the result is as expected on my side now. We appreciate it.

@Brian Walker, the feed is now updated (thank you!), but isn't rendering properly still - either in Chrome, FireFox, Vivaldi or Edge.  It's always been fine before now.

@Brian, the feedburner email also didn't happen for our feed last night.  Another clue?

@djk,

The email subscriptions are being turned down going forward as part of moving into maintenance mode. You can still download all your subscribers but we will be turning down the email service from FeedBurner.  We announced this a little over a year ago on the homepage and through a help center article about the deprecations. Also, the rendering of your feed will no longer show up as a webpage. We just return the RSS/XML with any modifications made to the feed in FeedBurner but we don't generate HTML as the old FeedBurner did.

@Brian, yes I saw the announcements about feedburner email subscriptions but I was sure I must have misunderstood something, because the change was supposed to take effect last August.  So is that it now - the email subscriptions are no longer going out as of now?  And the feedburner feed is no longer of use as of now?  Not a real problem, as there are lots of feed readers out there, and email apps can also retrieve the feed.  It would have been nice to know that this is the month it would end - I let people know almost a year ago through a feed message that the emails would be ending.  I should have let them know again earlier this month, as they could still find out through the email at that time.

Am I misunderstanding something?  Is there a reason someone would want to use the feed via feedburner still?  The announcements I received in the email notifications seemed like the feed would be still working.  The July 2021 email said " All existing feeds will continue to serve uninterrupted, and you can continue to create new accounts and burn new feeds. Core feed management functionality will continue to be supported, such as the ability to change the URL, source feed, title, and podcast metadata of your feed, along with basic analytics."

@Brian - the email did come through, just a day later than expected.  So I'll do one more addition to the feed to let people know that the emails will likely stop working any time now.

Sorry for the late response, it has been a busy few days.  Emails did stop serving as of yesterday. We updated our banner earlier this year announcing the turndown. For a whole variety of reasons things slipped several times.  Your feed will continue to serve, update and will be editable. We are adding back the ability to edit the title/description as well as add enclosures. The rendering as a webpage was also deprecated. So adding your FeedBurner feed to a news reader will still function as it should.

Analytics for a feed are also still present but a bit hard to find. We give the number of views/downloads for a 30 day timeframe, which is shown at the top of the "manage proxy" page. We will be moving it shortly to make it easier to find and provide more clarity as to the timeframe the metric is collected from.

Will u add the ability to manual ping our feeds? The old ping links don't work. I managed to finally get it working by manually push the refresh feed at the new manage proxy thing, but I would like to find a "programmable" way to do it. Before the updates we could just launch a single weblink. Now I can't find a way to do it. I mean at least by looking the webpage code...

I am also interested in the ping feature where you can ping others feeds which was available in the old Feedburner.
Hope this feature returns.
