Have searched the help topics already posted but couldn't find an answer to this.

To subscribe to my blog, readers essentially need to do three things:
  • Enter their e-mail address
  • Fill in the captcha
  • Click the verification link in their e-mail
This just seems like one-step too many and I'd be happy if I could just disable the option to verify by e-mail, putting less barriers in between my readers and my content. Is this possible?

I did notice the 'Deactivate' button in 'Communication Preferences' but was worried that would deactivate subscriptions entirely, which is not what I want.

I'm having the same problem as you Chris. I can't find any solution to this and it feels a little bit like discouraging and unprofessional for captcha to pop up on my site.
Would really like to hear solution for this. In the meantime I will look for other feedburner solution that provide captcha free subscription.

I too would like to deactivate the verification link email. It seems to me if they sign up on our blogs and do the captcha, that should be enough. Many people do not want to click on a link! Feedburner, please consider allowing us to opt out of this step.
