getting subscription stats from itunes podcast NOT setup in feedburner

Hi,
I have a podcast which I setup using the RSS but not feedburner, and
now I realized I want to be able to see how many people have
subscribed but I can't do this in iTunes. So I thought that I could
create a feedburner account for it, and then update the itunes account
(using that new tag)...and then will feedburner start to show me how
many people accessed the feed, without messing it up for anyone?
