iTunes LANGUAGE and SmartCAst

Hi, my podcast is in french and I would to knwo why Smartcast don't allow us to choose the language that will appear in iTunes ?

Any idea to change that ? My feed is automaticaly generated by an online services and I cant change the language in the feed.

Thanks for the suggestion. We always love hearing new ways we could improve the service. I noticed that iTunes does not have a tag for language. Are you referring to your decription and that you can't add different languages there?

iTunes seems to automaticly find the language, if there's no tag for that , how do you think that iTunes if finding it ?

I noticed that there's an option in Feeder to set the language, it meens that you probably could add that to feedburner. What do you think about that ?

Here is the language tag , it's simply "language"

<itunes> description
<language> Language of the Podcast
<pubDate> Date

You really should add this option in SmartCast, it would be very usefull for non US user of feedburner :)

Hello,

I would also like to have the option of adjusting the language tag in my feed. My podcast is currently tagged as English therefore my listeners probably can't find me as easily in iTunes.

Any follow-up concerning the above thread/request?

You will want to review your podcast information and make the necessary modification to your language code. Please look for the tag:

<language>en-us</language>

Then change the "en_us" to "fr". You may wish to look up more information about the ISO 639 language codes to allow for any variations such as Canadian French or European French.

We don't have the option right now but you can edit your source feed and place the proper language in the code.

Since you are using blogger's hosted service I am not sure that you can get in an edit your feed files so I am not sure there is much we can do.

I'm having the same problem. I get the <language>en</language> tag when it should be pt-br (portuguese). Because of that, I'm having trouble getting my podcast out there. People try to find it on podcast apps and have no success, unless they turn off the language filters.

I need to solve that problem. It should be as easy as the rest, but no. Plus, I don't know how feedburner decided the tag should be english, because both my google account language and my blogger language (where I host my podcast) are portuguese.
