Hi All,
The Hyrax Fedora 6 Working Group was established in early 2024 in response to the upcoming Hyrax 5.x release and the continued growth in Fedora 6.x adoption. Its work has centered on evaluating, documenting, and clarifying the changes needed for Hyrax 5.x to support Fedora 6.x as a back-end repository.
Stakeholders from the Working Group have been focused on working collaboratively to ensure these two platforms remain a robust solution for all users. Since its inception, the Working Group has released a series of communications to provide community members updates on progress and achievements. You can find those communications here.
Recent Accomplishments:
Fedora 7.0.0-RC1 Released
Community Testing now open - see Testing Procedures here to contribute.
Hyrax 5 Continued Improvements
Current QA work to support flexible metadata functionality
Improvements to IIIF manifests and the Universal Viewer
Advancing import capabilities with Bulkrax
Effort to merge Bulkrax into Hyrax more easily is complete
F6.nurax includes the most current version of Bulkrax to aid in performance testing
The WG will now turn its attention to preparing for Phase 2 of the Performance Testing deliverable. Once ready, a technical update will follow.
