Hi Everyone,

I hope your September has been off to a good start!  Today I am excited to announce our official Save-The-Date for the 3rd Annual Virtual Fedora Showcase! We are gearing up for another round of this FREE, virtual event, bringing together Fedora users from all around the world. If you missed last year’s event, you can read more about it and watch the recordings from the Fedora wiki - https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/FF/2024+Virtual+Fedora+Showcase.

What is the Virtual Fedora Showcase?

This is a “Showcase-style” virtual event where users and community members gather to share work they have been doing within their institutions over the past months. Through a series of ½ day virtual sessions, we provide opportunities for users to share their work, engage in discussion with peers, learn, listen and connect with fellow users from the Fedora community.

Save-the-Date: November 18th – 20th, 2025. (number of days is dependent on interest and quantity of proposals/activities)

Event wiki has been set up and information will be posted here as it becomes available: https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/FF/2025+Virtual+Fedora+Showcase

Next Steps

  • We will be sending out a call for presentation ideas soon. We want to ensure you have sufficient time to consider what you would like to present during the November event.
    • Remember – even if you think your work isn’t exciting or interesting, I promise there is someone else out there who would find value in what you are doing!
  • Keep your eyes open for emails with more details surrounding confirmed dates/times, how to register, how to get involved.

We have been extremely fortunate to have had the opportunity to connect with some of you face-to-over the last few years, but this virtual event is an opportunity for EVERYONE to reconnect. We feel a renewed sense of commitment to Fedora and its community, and look forward to continuing to grow. Help us build on this energy and join us for the 2025 Virtual Fedora Showcase!

Cheers,

Arran
