Hi Everyone,

On behalf of the Hyrax Fedora 6 Working Group, I am pleased to announce that we are ready to begin the community testing phase of our performance testing deliverable. Through the dedicated work of all those involved in the WG, we are now ready to seek your input on the performance of Sirenia – Hyrax 5.x + Fedora 6.x via Valkyrie.

We have configured a nurax instance for the testing effort and it can be found at https://f6.nurax.samvera.org/

But we need your help!

In order to fine tune the application and ensure it meets the high standards of our users, we need you to give it a spin. We have created a testing framework to help guide the effort, complete with sample data sets, pre-defined test cases, and a complete README for participating. You can find more details here: https://samvera.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/samvera/pages/3223289860/Community+Performance+Testing+-+f6.nurax

Participation Overview:

Navigate to: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1EsWzLPdopXn_xRGlLc7OEaxxnsvTug2o0g5I1DNIttU/edit?usp=sharing

  1. Sign up for an account in f6.nurax, then contact the Hyrax Product Owner, Nick Homenda (Nicholas...@tufts.edu or @NickHomenda on Samvera Slack) to be added to the testing group. This will allow you to add, edit, and delete based on the instructions provided for each use case,, which are indicated in the Phase 1 tab of the document.
  2. Grab a stopwatch to record your times.
  3. Add your name to Column E or later and post the times you track for each test case.

The more input and testing we can collect, the more prepared we can be for implementation and support. All Hyrax and Fedora users are encouraged to participate.

At this time we want to thank the Hyrax Product Owners, both past and present, the Hyrax Tech Leads, past and present, the Fedora technical team, and all the contributing members of the Working Group who have worked together to make this possible. This was a massive hurdle to overcome, and through collaboration, teamwork and because of the dedication of both of our communities, we are able to deliver on this massive accomplishment. So thank you!

If you have any questions about participating in the Community Testing Effort, please do not hesitate to reach out to Nick Homenda (Nicholas...@tufts.edu), Daniel Pierce (dlpi...@iu.edu) or Randall Flloyd (rdf...@indiana.edu). Heather (hea...@samvera.org) and myself (arran.g...@lyrasis.org) are also available at any time.

We look forward to seeing the testing results.

Cheers,

Arran

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to send a reminder out about the Community Performance Testing that is underway for Sirenia! The Hyrax Fedora 6 Working Group is looking to gather as much performance information on the environment to better understand how things are going.

All instructions to participate are included in the email below. Please do not hesitate to reach out to myself, Nick Homenda or Heather Greer Klein if you have any questions.

Cheers,

Arran, on behalf of the Hyrax Fedora 6 Working Group
